Dorothywas born toJohn andAnna (Olson) Kvinge onApril 15th, 1928 the sameday as her twin sister andbest friend Doris Berg. Shewas baptized the same yearin the Lutheran faith at Trin-ity Lutheran Church. Thatfaith guided her through herentire life.
The funeral will be 10:30a.m. Saturday, December13th, 2014 at TrinityLutheran Church in Arling-ton with Pastor Durk Thomp-son officiating, burial will beat a later date in the Arling-ton City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7p.m. on Friday, December 12,2014 at the Johnson-HenryFuneral Home in Arlingtonand preceding services inthe church on Saturday.
Dorothy (Kvinge)Williams grew up on a farmnear Hetland, SD where sheattended school, graduatingas co-valedictorian. She wentto Augustana College andthen to Sioux Valley Schoolof Nursing in Sioux Falls, alsoat the top of her class. Sheworked as a registered nursein hospitals, clinics and tookher last shift at age 79 in Ar-lington, at the Golden LivingCenter. She always said hermother guided her to nurs-ing from her care of animalsand how she cared for themany extra people stayingwith them on the farm. Sixkids gave her plenty of offtime to practice as well. Nomatter who you were,Dorothy had a hug for youand time to listen.
Dorothy married BlaineWilliams on June 22, 1952 atTrinity Lutheran Church inArlington. Marrying the loveof her life, they went on tohave five sons and onedaughter.
Dorothy enjoyed reading,bowling, babysitting hergrandchildren and coffeewith her many friends of Ar-lington and Hetland. She wasalso part of the Bible Studiesand Circle groups at TrinityLutheran Church. Thewomen of the church groupsand the countless meetingswere part of Dorothy’s manyfond memories. The RedHats also brought manygood days for Dorothy.
Dorothy was the coordi-nator for the American RedCross for many years and en-joyed the community of vol-unteers that made the blooddrives successful.
She was selected SouthDakota Merit Mother in 1992and the South Dakota“Mother of the Year” in 1994.Dorothy was a “Neighbor-hood Mother” every day ofthe year and so enjoyed hercommunity.
Dorothy is survived byher children Gordy ( Joan)Williams of Sinai, SD, Joel (Robin) Williams of Badger,SD, Jim (Lori) Williams Mis-sion Hill, SD, Alan ( Jayne)Williams of Austin, TX, Paul (Christy) of Sioux Falls, SD,and daughter Barb Williamsof Sioux Falls, SD. She is alsosurvived by, and loved byher many grandchildren,great grandchildren andnieces and nephews acrossthe country.
Dorothy is survived byone sister, Mary Ann Nelson
of New Brighton, MN and sis-ter-in-laws Goldie (Stan)Kvinge and Kathryn (John)Kvinge.
Dorothy has joined herhusband, parents, siblingsand many friends in heaven.

Joyce Ann Wentworth wasborn on March 5, 1946 in Mar-shall, MN to Vincent and Em-merence Wyffels. She wasraised on a farm south ofMarshall with her parents,four brothers and six sisters.She was baptized, confirmed,and attended school at HolyRedeemer in Marshall.Shortly after High SchoolGraduation Joyce attendedMount Marty College in Yank-ton, SD receiving a Bachelorof Arts in Education. While at-tending Mount Marty Collegeshe met the man who wouldlater become her husband.
After graduating from
Mount MartyCollege in1968 Joycetaught in Wor-thington, MNfor two years.She then spentthe next twoyears workingfor an educa-tional coop es-
tablishing Special EducationPrograms in the Mid-West. In1972 Joyce was hired by theYankton School District towrite a grant establishingtheir Special Education pro-gram. On June 17 of the sameyear she married Steven C.Wentworth at Holy RedeemerChurch in Marshall, MN.When the grant was completeJoyce stayed in Yankton tak-ing a position that would leadto her 39 year career as theDirector of Student Services.She went on to earn her Mas-ter’s in Special Education Ad-ministration and a SpecialistDegree in Administrative Law,both from the University ofSouth Dakota. Throughouther career she was presentedwith many accolades honor-ing her dedication to the stu-dents and staff that she caredso much for. Joyce was verypassionate about her job. Itwas her second home andfamily and she treated themlike it. She also served oncountless educational boardsand committees at the local,state and national levels.
Family and friends werethe most important things toJoyce; in June of 2011 she re-tired from the Yankton SchoolDistrict to spend more timewith both. Joyce enjoyed aglass (or two) of wine, lunch(especially a good chickenstrip basket), the occasionalconcert road trip withfriends, and her weekly gen-tle yoga class. She adoredspending time with hergranddaughters and theyloved getting into mischiefwith their grammy. She was amember of Questers, the Re-tired Teachers Associationand the Stewart School bookclub. She had also been work-ing on a project that wouldchronicle the history of theYankton School District. Sheand Steve enjoyed Fridaynight dinners out with friendsand spending evenings to-gether. Steve and Joyce be-longed to a priceless group offriends known as thepinochle club. They havebeen and always will be aspecial part of the Wentworthfamily.
Joyce is survived by herhusband, Steve Wentworth,daughters Shelby Wentworthand Lydia (Eric Koller) Went-worth and her grandchildrenElise and Mia Koller. Joyce isalso survived by her siblings;Duane (Cheryl) Wyffels, Gary(Elaine) Wyffels, Tom (Becky)Wyffels, Brian Wyffels, Pam(Jim) Lewis, Mary Wyffels,
Sande Wyffels, Jan (Rich)Bruder, Renee (Kim Lille-haug) Wyffels, Reggie (Jim)Halbert, and brother and sis-ter in-law Dan (Rita) Went-worth as well as many niecesand nephews, great-niecesand nephews, and great-greatnieces and nephews. She wasproceeded in death by herparents and sister-in-lawDiane Wyffels.
Joyce appreciated her re-lationships with the people inher life and wanted them allto know how important theywere to her, especially duringher recent illness. She wrotea note of thanks, intending topublish it in the Press andDakotan. That note is in-cluded below:
A special thank you to allof my family, friends and thethoughtful people who sentcards, flowers, prayers andwell wishes. Who called andvisited and offered supportduring my months of contin-ued recovery from the sur-gery and resultingcomplications after I was di-agnosed with pancreatic can-cer. Kaylor. In September 1951, hewas drafted into the UnitedStates Army and was honor-ably discharged in the fall of1952. Emil spent a brief timeworking for the HomestakeGold Mine, Klaudt Service,Menno Lumber Yard,Hutchinson County HighwayDepartment, B-Z Construc-tion, and Zeeb Construction.Every Tuesday afternoon fora number of years, Emilwould visit many people atthe Menno-Olivet Care Cen-ter.

Edward and Tillie (Larsen)Christensen and grew up onthe farm where she was born.She was baptized and con-firmed at Salem LutheranChurch in rural Freeman.
She graduated from Free-man High School in 1937. Shewent on to graduate from theSouth Dakota Beauty Acad-emy in Sioux Falls. After grad-uation, she was employed atthe Beauty Nook in Fantlesfor 7 years. She then pur-chased the Elite Beauty Shopfrom Ilene Gustad andopened her own shop in herhome. After 41 years as abeautician, she retired in1981.
She married Dale J. Clarkon June 15, 1947. They hadone daughter, Yvonne. Hepreceded her in death in 1956at the young age of 36. Shemarried Wilfred N. Pedersonof Gayville, SD on March 19,1966 at Trinity LutheranChurch. They shared theirlives until his death on March14, 1996.
Virginia was a member ofTrinity Lutheran Church,where she served on theBoard of Deacons for severalyears. She was also a mem-ber of the VFW Ladies Auxil-iary, Sacred Heart HospitalAuxiliary, the Eastern Starand the Senior Citizens.
She enjoyed many activi-ties including Traveling, play-ing cards, volunteering,fishing, camping, and bowl-ing.
She has resided at Au-tumn Winds West for the pasttwo years.
She is survived by onedaughter, Yvonne (Rodger)Welsh of Apple Valley, MN;
one step-son, Steven (Mary)Pederson of Cropwell, AL;one grandson, Terry, threestep-granddaughters: Molly,Megan, and Amy; four greatgrandchildren, threenephews, two nieces and onebrother-in-law, Merle Peder-son of Lakeland, Florida.
She was preceded indeath by her parents, both ofher husbands, two sisters,one brother, two brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, andone step-son, Roger.
