THE FUTURE?

Geothermal Power Plants in JapanIntroduction
Geothermal energy resources has begun around 1950
The first geothermal power station started its operation in 1966
After 35 years, 16 geothermal power plants in the 14 geothermal power station sites are currently operating in Japan
Total authorized rated output reaches 530 MW, or 0.1% of the whole Japanese power capacity of 250 GW.

Reasons why geothermal energy isn’t expanding in Japan
The initial investment cost is huge
Some measures are indispensable for preservation of natural scenery
Expensive drilling-costs, equipment and labor
Lack of knowledge
So what can Japan do to increase this renewable energy in the future??
a new energy policy for renewable energy Japan is one of the most distinguished
volcanic countries in the world In fact, Japan's geothermal resources are
among the most abundant in the worldA coordinated effort to cut energy
consumption, combined with massive investments in renewable energy, such as geothermal, would place Japan in the forefront of the development of clean energy for the world in future
THANK YOUFOR YOUR ATTENTION
The benefits of Geothermal energy
not create any pollution. It emits very little CO2
it is also regarded as an effective means to deal with global warming issues as well as wind energy
Is renewable and sustainableusing it we get less dependent on
coal and oil.
How Geothermal energy work?We can generate geothermal energy
by drilling deep holes into the earths crust pumping cold water through one end and then by the time it rises back to the surface the water can be hundreds of degrees Celsius which we then use as steam to drive a turbine which drives a generator creating power. Geothermal energy is one of the best natural energies around.
