WHAT IS PRODUCT
HUNT?Simply put, it’s a website and mobile app that ranks new products on a daily basis.
WHY IT MATTERS
• $6.1M investment led by Andreessen Horowitz
• 3,000 fans came to their office opening
• PH e-mail sent to 100,000’s of people, including press and investors
• TRACTION FOR YOU
WHAT IT CAN DO FOR YOU• Our app, Fittr, was featured
on Product Hunt and made it into the Top 5
• During the time it was only on Product Hunt, we received 13 downloads a second
• We were able to capitalize on press opportunities, such as Yahoo!
WHY? COMMUNITY
• Site might not look like much, but has a large and active fan base
• Interaction with the site daily is common and encouraged
• People meet in real life to talk about Product Hunt
PRODUCT HUNT FEATURES
VOTING• Daily and Switches at Midnight PT
• Anywhere from 30-50 products
• Books, startups, crowdfunding campaigns also welcome
• Green “M” is for “Maker” who has joined the discussion
• Gold Star signifies a deal for Product Hunt users
• Anyone with a Twitter account may vote
COMMENTS• Each product gets a Comments
section with its own URL
• Only certain members have commenting privileges, granted by the community
• The Green “M” has been awarded to me on this product because I made it and have joined the discussion
• Below the brown bar is the user who submitted the Hunt
COLLECTIONS
• Create themed lists of previously Hunted products
• One collection is featured every day, and announced in the e-mail
• Occasionally, like Startup Toolkit #4, the list is a series of Product-Hunters-Only deals.
• Sent to more than 100,000 people
• Starts with a featured collection
• Then a short ad
• Then the top Hunts from day before
