It is the incredible variety of life forms on earth, this includes all plants, animals and microorganisms, their enormous diversity of genes, habitats that are identified as their home, and the natural processes of which they are part (ecosystems).

TYPE OF HONEY • TYPE OF HONEY • TYPE OF HONEY • TYPE OF HONEY

Beekeeping is of great ecological importance, since the work that bees play as pollinating agents contributes to the maintenance of biodiversity and therefore of ecosystems, as well as the production of crops that require the participation of this.

Likewise, beekeeping contributes to job creation in rural areas and to the generation of foreign exchange for the country, since Mexico is the third largest exporter in the world. Producers who integrate PROADECH apply biodiversity-friendly practices, such as reforestation with native plants, implementation of good production practices, as well as actions to conserve natural resources, among other actions.

The diversity of products of bees (honey, pollen, propolis, royal jelly) represents for beekeepers higher incomes and with it, an improvement in their standard of living. Increasing the productivity of the system encourages the non-adoption of more intensive forms of land use

¿WHAT IS BIODIVERSITY?

IMPORTANCE OF BEEKEEPING FOR THE CONSERVATION OF BIODIVERSITY.

¿Why is conservation necessary?

Biodiversity conservation is an indispensable condition for life on earth, as ecological functions are maintained through it. The so-called ecological imbalance is the affectation of the functional relationships between the species of an ecosystem.

In view of this, the objective of the Sustainable Productive Systems and Biodiversity Project (PSPSB) is to conserve and protect biodiversity in México of national and global importance by improving sustainable management practices in productive áreas of biological corridors.

PROADECH participates in the PSPSB through the subproject Conservation and strengthening of beekeeping within the biological corridors jungle maya zoque and sierra mother of southern Chiapas with funding from the Global Environment Facility (GEF), with the World Bank as an agency Implementer, also participates Banamex social fund and SAGARPA. The subproject aims to strengthen the honey production system, promoting the improvement of practices of sustainable management and production that allow the obtaining of a harmless product and taking care of the biodiversity of the environment.
