de la misa 12 de junio de 2021 : Memoria del Corazón Inmaculado de la Santísima Virgen María Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo La pandemia del coronavirus ha afectado a nuestro mundo y a nuestra sociedad de un modo que nunca hubiéramos
podido imaginar. Al principio de la pandemia, muchas personas experimentaron grandes temores y ansiedades ante la tremenda inseguridad. Reconocimos la fragilidad de nuestra naturaleza humana. Sin embargo, también nos unió más como una familia que busca el bien y el bienestar de los demás. Y lo que es más importante, a través de esta pandemia, llegamos a reconocer nuestra profunda confianza en Dios y la verdad del amor permanente de Dios por nosotros, sus hijos e hijas. Nos mantuvimos firmes en nuestra fe, sabiendo que Dios siempre está a nuestro lado. Afortunadamente, seguimos haciendo progresos significativos en nuestra lucha contra la pandemia en los tres condados de la Archidiócesis. Podemos esperar días mejores en los que podamos vivir activamente nuestra fe como Cuerpo de Cristo en nuestras comunidades parroquiales. Por medio de esta carta, a partir del 19 de junio de 2021, la dispensa de la obligación de asistir a la misa dominical y a los días de precepto en respuesta a la pandemia del coronavirus será levantada para los fieles católicos de la Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles. Aquellos que tienen razones serias y legítimas (por ejemplo, enfermedad, condiciones de salud subyacentes que los hacen susceptibles a la enfermedad, temores significativos de enfermarse, etc.) están dispensados de la obligación de asistir a la Misa dominical y a los Días Santos de Obligación. En estos casos, los párrocos deben animar a los fieles a santificar el Día del Señor leyendo los Evangelios, rezando con sus familias o uniéndose al sacrificio de la Misa haciendo un Acto de Comunión Espiritual. Dispensation from Mass Lifted by the Archbishop
June 12, 2021 : Memorial of The Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, The coronavirus pandemic has affected our world and society in ways we could never have imagined. Early on in the pandemic, many people experienced great fears and anxieties in the face of tremendous uncertainty. We recognized the fragility of our human nature. However, it also brought us closer together as one family seeking the good and wellbeing of the other. Most importantly, through this pandemic, we came to recognize our deep reliance on God and the truth of God’s abiding love for us, His sons and daughters. We remain strong in our faith knowing that God will always be by our side. Thankfully, we continue to make significant progress in our fight against the pandemic in the three counties of the Archdiocese. We can look forward to better days in which we can actively live our faith as the Body of Christ in our parish communities. And so, on June 19th and 20th, I encourage the Catholic faithful of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles to return to in-person Sunday Mass and the celebration of the Sacraments, especially for those who are in good health. By this letter, effective June 19, 2021, the dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass and Holy Days of Obligation in response to the coronavirus pandemic will be lifted for the Catholic faithful of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Those who have serious and legitimate reasons (e.g., illness, underlying health conditions that renders them susceptible to illness, significant fears of becoming ill, etc.,) are dispensed from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass and Holy Days of Obligation. In these cases, Pastors are to encourage the faithful to keep the Lord’s Day holy by reading the Gospels, praying with their families, or joining themselves to the sacrifice of the Mass by making an Act of Spiritual Communion. Lastly, Pastors are asked to refer to the Archdiocese’s “Guidelines on Liturgical Celebrations and Religious Services” to help their parishes transition into this new phase of our life, ministry, and worship as a Church. Know that I am praying for you, and I ask you to please pray for me and my ministry. May Jesus, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother Mary and St. Joseph, bless us with good health, peace, and joy,

Happy Fathers day! Every year on Fathers day I am reminded of my first Fathers day I had 3 years ago. Growing up I was always so excited for Fathers day mass and would always dream and imagine of the day I would get to stand up on Fathers day and receive a blessing. I was jealous of my wife the month before who received her Mothers day blessing but I knew my day was coming. The day had arrived and the whole time at mass I was like a little kid on Christmas anxiously awaiting my gift. We got to the end of communion, had announcements, and then….nothing. Mass ended as it normally does with no Fathers day blessing. I was really upset and confused and by the time I was done cleaning up mass I had missed Father and didn’t get a chance to ask why there was no blessing. I left church angry that day because I was being selfish wanting this blessing that I had lost focus of not only the blessing of the mass, but also the daily blessing that it is to be a father. So fathers, cherish this day, but know that every day it is a blessing to be a father.

¡Feliz día del padre!
Cada año, en el día del padre, me acuerdo del primer día del padre que tuve hace 3 años. Creciendo siempre estaba muy entusiasmado por la misa del día del padre y siempre soñaba e imaginaba el día en que me pondría de pie en el día del padre y recibiría una bendición. Estaba celoso de mi esposa que el mes anterior recibió la bendición del día de la madre, pero sabía que mi día llegaría. El día había llegado y
todo el tiempo en la misa estaba como un niño pequeño en Navidad esperando ansiosamente mi regalo. Llegamos al final de la comunión, hubo anuncios y luego .... nada. La misa terminó como normalmente lo hace sin la bendición del día del padre. Yo estaba muy molesto y confundido y para cuando terminé de limpiar la misa ya había desaparecido el padre y no tuve la oportunidad de preguntar por qué no había bendición. Salí de la iglesia molesto ese día porque estaba siendo egoísta queriendo esta bendición que había perdido el enfoque no sólo de la bendición de la misa, sino también la bendición diaria que es ser un padre. Así que padres, aprecien este día, pero sepan que cada día es una bendición ser padre.

In time of fear and trouble, who do you turn to for help? We can always turn to Jesus and ask for his help. We believe that the power of Jesus can overcome all things, because he is the son of God. Sacred Heart Church Food Pantry needs your help!
The Sacred Heart Church Food Pantry at Cabrillo Village needs volunteers to bring the donated food on Pantry Sunday from the Church to the Pantry following the Saturday 5pm Mass, the Saturday 7 pm (Spanish) Mass, the Sunday 12:30pm (Spanish) Mass, or the Sunday 5pm Mass. The job takes about 30 minutes following Mass and occurs once a month (the Masses associated with the first Sunday of each month). The job entails the emptying of the red barrels outside of Church and taking the donated food to the Pantry at Cabrillo Village. If you regularly attend one of these Masses and can donate 30 minutes of time once a month, please consider helping the Food Pantry in its mission to serve those families in need.
