Volleyball

Eustace Tournament (Thurs, Aug 15 & Sat, Aug 17)

The Ladycats went 3-3 last weekend in the Eustace Tournament,

bringing home 2nd place in the Silver Bracket. On Thursday,

August 15th the team lost to Scurry-Rosser (20-25, 17-25).

Shayla Arthur led the team in kills with 7 and Ay'Lasia

Fantroy added 5 kills. Monique Thompson led the offense with

8 assists. Ka'Zem Wood led the defense with 11 digs.

The Ladycats defeated Blooming Grove (25-21, 25-22).

Shayla Arthur had 6 kills and Ay'Lasia Fantroy added 4 kills.

Monique Thompson had 5 assists and Shayla Arthur led the team

with 7 digs. Our last pool play game on Thursday, we took a loss

to Mabank (14-25, 21-25). Ke'ondra White led the offense with 4

kills. Shayla Arthur had 3 stuff blocks and Ka'Zem Wood added

12 digs.

On Saturday, August 17th, the Ladycats defeated Buffalo (25-21, 20-25, 25-20). Shayla Arthur had 12 kills, while Ka'Zem Wood added 8 kills. Ke'ondra White had 5 kills. Monique Thompson had 14 assists in the game and Raina Hanzik and Ke'ondra White each had 12 digs. The team defeated Kaufman in our second game of the day (22-25, 25-11, 25-17) Ke'ondra White led the team with 9 kills, while Ka'Zem Wood added 3. Monique Thompson had 8 assists and Ke'ondra White had a team high of 8 digs. In the championship game we were defeated by Palmer (23-25, 25-15, 15-25). Ke'ondra White had 3 aces from the serving line. Ka'Zem Wood and Ay'lasia Fantroy led the offense with 4 kills each. Monique Thompson added 11 assists.

Raina Hanzik and Ka'Zem Wood led the team defensively with 13 digs a piece. Ke'ondra White added 12 digs.

Chapel Hill (Tuesday, August 20) The Ladycats won in 3 over Chapel Hill on Tuesday, August 20th. (25-14, 25-21, 26-24) Monique Thompson had 3 serving aces and 9 assists on the night. Ka'Zem Wood led the team in assists with 10 and had 8 digs. Ke'ondra White had led the offense with 10 kills and led the defense with 10 digs on the night.

Ay'Lasia Fantroy added 7 kills and Shayla Arthur had 6 kills. The Ladycats will compete in the Edgewood Tournament this weekend.

Tennis Team Tennis competed at Robinson last weekend. The PHS Tennis Team lost to Robinson but defeated Madisonville. Coach Melissa Firmin

Cross Country Cross Country will run in their first meet of the year on Saturday, August 24th at Union Grove. Coaches: John Absalom and Luis Hernandez
