Frequently asked questions (FAQs): 1. What will be minimum temperature?

Minimum temperature will be minus 25 degree. You will survive easily with proper clothing.

2. Will the route be open in winters?

There are two routes to reach Spiti valley – via Manali and via Shimla. Manali route closes due to heavy snow on Kunzum pass, but Shimla route remains open

throughout the year. Sometime it may be closed for 2-3 days after heavy snowfall.

3. What about AMS?

AMS means Acute Mountain Sickness. To prevent AMS, we will travel and stay gradually in upper areas.

4. Is it safe for children?

Yes, it is safe with proper clothing. But we recommend not to travel with children below 5 years.

5. Is it safe for elderly person?

If you have no problem of heart and lungs, it is safe.

6. Is it safe for previous COVID patient?

If you have been a COVID patient in 6 months before the trip, you are strongly NOT advised to travel in this high altitude area.

NOTE:

Tap water freezes in entire Spiti valley, so regular toilets will be non-operational. You will have to do your ‘daily business’ in local spitian pit

toilets. These toilets may be uncomfortable and unhygienic.

Use of alcohol is strictly banned.
