    Winter is just around the corner whicheans another sports season for Beallsvilleigh. Although the football teams great

    uccess has put a short delay on the boys

    asketball schedule, everyone is still work-ng hard to prepare for the upcoming sea-on of winter sports.

    Beallsville's girls basketball team has aig challenge on their hands having onlyeven girls, but it won't slow them down.ead coach Rick Jarrett had much to say

    bout this years team calling them the"Super Seven."

    Coach Jarrett says, "Basketball is a veryemanding sport and not everyone is capa-

    le, in some capacity or another, of han-ling it. These girls have made a commit-ent to the program and have been work-

    ng hard."The team consists of senior Julie Bilyeu;

    ive juniors, Katey Kinney, Allisonampbell, Madison Stephen, Mikaelaeadley, Kaylee Gallaher; and one fresh-

    man Morgan Myers. Last year the team lostAlyssa Tavoletti to graduation. "With con-tinued hard work, commitment and dedica-tion, the team will be looking for exciting

    things to happen throughout the upcomingseason," said Jarrett.

    The girls play their first game Sat., Nov.26 at Strasburg.

    Head Coach Tolzda had a great deal tosay about this years boys basketball team.Tolzda believes the team has really physi-cally grown and has worked very hard and

    had much practice pre-season with camps,leagues and shoot-outs. He sees a lot ofpotential this year adding much about hisplayers. Tyler Spence, a 4-year guard, hesays has a great attitude and work ethic,said Tolzda. Grahamm Dauch is a strong,3-year post player and good rebounder.Senior Matthew Burke, who plays wing, isvery athletic, has great leaping ability andis a 3-point threat. Gage Bates has reallygrown and is a good shot blocker. Junior

    Josh Baldridge, a 2-year starter, is a horsein the lane and a great defensive rebound-er. Junior Kyle Groves could be hard tokeep out, has great attitude and work ethicand Teryn Jarrett has long range and hasgrown and matured.

    Seniors Cory Windland, Justin Dietrich,Aaron Thompson, Sam Jackson, and sopo-more Dalton Secrest add depth to theteam, added Tolzda. The boys lost TaylorMyers and Evan Nieswanger to graduation.

    Unfortunatlly, Wrestling Coach Wiles

    wasn't able to be contacted at the time ofthis article.
