The American Dream means different things to different people, but I believe it includes having close friends and family by my side.

Set up your notebook page in two columns for taking Cornell Notes.

What caused the stock market crash in October 1929?

The 1920’s saw businesses having profits, which they did not pass on in wages to their workers. This caused people to not have enough money to buy products, which caused a surplus. Factories had to shut down; this caused unemployment.

The Great Depression

Cornell Notes

What were five effects the Great Depression had on Americans?

What legislation did President Hoover establish?

You write two more questions for the rest of the article and answer them!
