• Set aside a specific time and place.• Use the child’s Bible to read the passage together.

• Talk about the activity and personal application.• Write an encouraging comment to your child

each week.

Here are some tips to help your child develop the spiritual habit of having a daily Quiet Time with God.

— a special time that you set aside each day to read God’s Word to get to know Him better and to learn how He wants you to live. During this time, God speaks to you through His Holy Word, the Bible, and you speak to God through prayer. What an adventure! As a Christian, you will find yourself growing closer to God when you set aside time everyday to have your Quiet Time.

Your Quiet Time is divided into two sections.

Personal Prayer Diary A place for you to write your daily or weekly prayer requests with additional spaces to write answers to your prayers.

Quiet Time Activity Pages Each day has a Scripture passage for you to read with an activity to help you understand the truth from God’s Word. It also includes a personal challenge or application of the Scripture to your life.

All Word of Life Quiet Times use the same Scripture passages to help families share what they have

My PersonalPRAYER Diary

Spending time with God in PrayerKeeping a Personal Prayer Diary is a great way to remind yourself

to pray for specific people and things. It also reminds you to thank God and to tell others when He answers your prayers. Your

prayer time should include praying for friends and family. Especially pray for those who don’t know Christ as their Savior. You should also

pray for your Christian friends, your relatives, and yourself. Pray that you will grow in your Christian life and become what God wants you to be. Get

to know missionaries who serve the Lord in your area or around the world. Ask them for specific prayer requests; write these on your prayer pages. Much of your prayer time should be used thanking and praising God. Tell God that you are thankful for your salvation, parents, home, friends, and answers to prayers. You should praise God for His beautiful creation, His holiness, and His greatness. Some prayer time should include asking God to meet needs such as clothing, food, or maybe a job for your dad. Maybe you could ask God to help you be more obedient. God wants to hear from you today! What are you waiting for?

Daily Prayer Requests are those things that you

pray for each day. For each request, write the

date that you started praying for it and how

God answered your prayer.

NAME DATE HOW MY PRAYER WAS ANSWERED

The Weekly Prayer Request Chart can be used to remind you to pray for specific requests either once a week or more often. Write down the names of friends and family members. Don’t forget to include those that need to be saved. Put the names of your church leaders and missionaries that you know so that you can remember to pray for them as well. For each request, write the date that you started praying and how God answered your prayer.
