SUNY ERIE CONTINUING EDUCATION Continuing Education provides customized, non-credit professional development training to local businesses, individual community residents and local government employees. For more than 20 years, this service has complemented SUNY Erie Community College’s academic mission and has positioned itself as the workforce development leader in Western New York.Investment in lifelong learning provides the local workforce with the necessary skill sets to foster economic development.SUNY Erie’s Workforce Development has four divisions: Continuing Education, Corporate Training, Driving Programs and the One-Stop Career Center. Through workforce training, SUNY Erie plays a critical role in both the state and region’s economic development efforts. CONTINUING EDUCATION The Continuing Education Department initiates and develops seminars, workshops and courses that provide community and business members with the opportunity to expand their knowledge and update their job skill sets. NEW YORK STATE APPROVED INFECTION CONTROL TRAINING: 3 HOURS This course is designed to review a multitude of diseases and infestations that occur in the workplace. This course will enable the practitioner to adequately understand the agents and their control thereby minimizing exposure to staff and to patients. A certificate issued upon completion of the course will meet the requirements of the New York State Department of Health Infection Control Training.Who should take this course? Dentists, dental hygienists, licensed practical nurses, optometrists, podiatrists, registered nurses, physicians, physician assistants and specialist assistants must complete course work or training every four years.Course fee is $49.
