Service 2 Custom Commodity Codes

UK MOD needs a quick and easy way to identify accurately and consistently the correct Custom Commodity Code (CCC) for all items leaving and entering the UK on operations.

Background

Custom Commodity Codes are a hierarchical classification system based on GROUP, CLASS & NAMING relationships. The NATO Codification System is a hierarchical classification system based on GROUP, CLASS & NAMING relationships.

The Mapping Task

AWL, using the basic principles of NATO Codification will create a logic that allows each Customs Code to be directly linked to the NCS.

That logic will then be used to characteristic search for all NATO Stock Numbers that match the logic and can be allocated the CCC.
