WORLD CRUISE 2017

SAN FRANCISCO TO MONTE CARLO

January 6 – May 3, 2017

GLOBAL TREASURES — OLD AND NEWOn January 6, Silver Whisper will begin her 2017 world cruise. She’ll sail under the Golden Gate Bridge, a gleaming tease of things to come — tropical edens across the vast Pacific; smouldering Antipodean landscapes; Bali, Bangkok … and beyond to the jewels of India, the kingdoms of the Persian Gulf, the wonders of Egypt and Jordan, and a covey of Mediterranean treasures. By journey’s end you’ll have called at 62 ports in 25 countries in 116 days. But if the truth be told, the true barometer of a world cruise is not only about places you visit, but what you experience ashore … and with whom. Aboard our intimate ship you’ll enjoy a far more immersive experience of the lands you visit. You’ll travel with cosmopolitan guests from around the globe, sharing their warm fellowship in an ambience of pampered elegance and privilege. May we also add that with six maiden ports of call, the 2017 world itinerary is our most unique and exotic ever. Come with us. The world awaits.

Monte CarloLONGER DAYS. MORE OVERNIGHTS. MORE TIME TO EXPLORE.Great cities, great wine regions, architectural spectacles both old and new — you’ll discover the iconic landmarks of a changing world as you sail the seven seas. Marvel at the meteoric rise of the skyscraper in Asia. Then step back in time to gilded shrines, colonial outposts, and water buffalo standing in rice paddies. Observe the dramatic contrasts — royal palaces peer over bustling thoroughfares, ancient temples stand next to mega shopping malls, oil-rich sheikdoms give way to pharoanic glories and Greek antiquity. And there are natural wonders, too — paradise islands in the South Pacific, lush rainforests and orangutans in Borneo, Arabian desertscapes and stunning Mediterranean rivieras. And with 21 late-night and overnight stays you’ll have the time to take it all in.

UNDER THE SOUTHERN CROSSWith their blend of stunning scenery and delightful people, the islands of Polynesia and the Antipodes are on most travellers’ checklists. Check them off as you sail to Hawaii, Samoa and Tonga, and to the wonders Down Under — the hissing geysers and boiling mud baths of Tauranga, home of the Maori; Sydney with its iconic opera house; and Melbourne, cultural capital of Australia. You’ll also savour a “fair dinkum" sampling of wine regions from the sauvignons and chardonnays of New Zealand to the renowned vineyards of the Barossa Valley in Australia and Margaret River further west.

BALI, BORNEO & THE GREAT CITIES OF ASIALet fabled islands embrace you with their vast and steamy beauty — heavenly Bali, the lush rainforests and orangutans of Borneo, the exquisite white sand beaches of Boracay in the Philippines. Soak in the ‘Old Asia’ beauty of Vietnam and marvel at Asia’s tigers in their global race skyward; Hong Kong, Shanghai, the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur and Taipei 101. But nowhere are the contrasts more startling than in Singapore, where age-old neighbourhoods coexist with a Feng Sui skyline out of tomorrowland.

PASSAGE TO INDIA Golden beaches, ancient temples, exquisite landscapes and Mughal marvels — glittering wonders light our way as we follow the Spice Route through the Strait of Malacca. Talcum beaches lay tantalising close to grand pagodas in Phuket. Temples and colonial mansions recall the glory of the spice trade in Penang. Sri Lanka draws us with its elephants, tea plantations and lush hill country. Then drift through the stunning backwaters of Kerala, or gaze amazed at the Taj Mahal — a masterpiece of architectural and artistic achievement.

ARABIA & THE MEDITERRANEANBedouins herd their goats outside glass and neon cities in the nations of the Gulf, while some of the world’s great wonders straddle the banks of the Red Sea — Luxor and Karnak, the Great Pyramids of Giza. You’ll sail through the Suez to the myths and legends of ancient Greece, the Crusader’s fortress in Malta, and Sorrento on the exquisite Amalfi Coast. Then toast farewell in Monte Carlo, and perhaps a night of high-stakes baccarat in the Ferrari capital of the world.
