SEASON HIGHLIGHTS • MARCH 4: Lou Williams sets a franchise record versus Cleveland with 21 points

in the fourth quarter. It was the most points in any quarter by a Raptor player, pass-ing the previous record of 20 points. Alan Anderson was the last Raptor to score 20 points in a quarter (3rd) Mar. 22, 2013 vs. New York.

• FEBRUARY 20: Toronto defeats the Hawks, 105-80, in Atlanta. With the victory, the Raptors match a franchise-record with their fifth straight road win (Jan. 23 - Feb. 20). The last time Toronto won five straight road games was Nov. 14 - Dec. 1, 2001. They also achieved this Feb. 23 - Mar. 8, 2000.

• FEBRUARY 11: Toronto enters the NBA All-Star break with a team-record 36 wins after defeating the Wizards. The previous team high for wins before the All-Star break was 29 (2001-02, 2006-07 & 2009-10). The Raptors recorded 20 wins after the All-Star break last year, the second-most in team history, while posting a .667 win percentage (20-10).

• FEBRUARY 6: The Raptors trailed 34-19 after the first quarter against the L.A. Clippers, but outscored the Clippers by 31 points over the final three quarters and came away with a 123-107 victory. It marked the second time that the Raptors have won a game by 15+ points after trailing by 15+ points at the end of the first in their franchise history, and the previous instance also happened against the Clippers, on Nov.13, 2009. According to Elias, no other franchise has done that more than once in the shot-clock era.

• JANUARY 22: Kyle Lowry was elected as a starter for the 2015 NBA All-Star Game being played Feb. 15 at Madison Square Garden in New York. Lowry earned his first All-Star appearance by tallying 805,290 votes, which was second among Eastern Conference guards. He leaped ahead of Miami’s Dwyane Wade by 15,451 votes after trailing by 100,352 through the Jan. 8 returns.

• Lowry is the third Raptor to be elected a starter, joining Vince Carter (2000-04) and Chris Bosh (2007). He is the fifth Raptor to be named to the Eastern Conference All-Star team: Bosh (2006-10), Carter (2000-04), Antonio Davis (2001) and DeMar DeRozan (2014).

• JANUARY 19: Toronto reaches the midway point of the 2014-15 season with the most wins in franchise history (27-14) for the first half. The Raptors were 21-20 after 41 games last year and went on to record a franchise-record 48 wins. The most wins (first or second half) the team has ever recorded was 28 in the second half of the 2006-07 season.

• JANUARY 14: DeMar DeRozan leads the team with 20 points in a victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. DeRozan returned to the lineup after missing the previous 21 games (Nov. 30 - Jan. 12) with a torn left adductor longus tendon. The Raptors went 12-9 (.571) without him.

• JANUARY 5: Kyle Lowry was named Eastern Conference Player of the Month for December, joining Chris Bosh (January 2007) as the only players in team history to win the award. Lowry averaged 22.3 points, 8.9 assists and 4.2 rebounds in 15 games last month and help the Raptors to an 11-4 record. Highlighting Lowry’s month was a career-high 39-point performance December 3 in a 123-104 win at Utah. It was one of three 30-point scoring nights posted by Lowry, all on the road.

• JANUARY 2: A franchise-record streak of 59 consecutive days (Nov. 4 - Jan. 1) atop the Eastern Conference standings ends following a loss at Golden State.

This was the third time Lowry was named Player of the Week and the second time with Toronto.

• DECEMBER 1: The NBA names Dwane Casey as Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for November. Casey becomes the first coach in team history to win the award twice after earning the honour in December 2013. • NOVEMBER 28: DeMar DeRozan leaves the game versus Dallas at the 8:23 mark of the third quarter with a torn left adductor longus tendon (groin). In five-plus sea-sons with Toronto, DeRozan has missed only 11 games. He’s the only player in team history to start all 82 games twice (2010-11 and 2012-13). He missed two games in 2013-14 with a sprained left ankle/foot, three games with a sore left ankle in 2011-12 and five games in 2009-10 with a sprained right ankle. DeRozan rested for one game Apr. 14, 2014 vs. Milwaukee prior to the start of the playoffs.

Kyle Lowry averaged17.6 points, 6.3 assists and 6.0 rebounds.

• NOVEMBER 19: Toronto defeated Memphis 96-92 in a match-up of first place teams. Memphis entered the game with a 10-1 record (best in the West), while the Raptors (8-2) were tied for first in the East. Toronto has sold 12,500 season seats, up from roughly 8,000 a year ago. The Raptors have sold out 11 consecutive home games Nov. 11-Dec. 15. GOOGLE ALERT

The Toronto Raptors were the most googled Canadian sports team in 2014. The second most-searched team was the Montreal Canadiens followed by the Blue Jays and Toronto FC. Spots 5 to 10 were filled entirely by CFL teams (Ottawa Redblacks, Calgary Stampeders, Edmonton Eskimos, B.C. Lions, Montreal Alouettes and Hamil-ton Tiger-Cats).

DWANE CASEY HEAD COACH Dwane Casey was named the eighth head coach in franchise history June 21, 2011 joining the organization just nine days after helping lead the Dallas Mavericks to the 2011 NBA Championship. Casey, 57, has served as a head coach, associate head coach and assistant coach in the NBA 19 of the past 20 years. He has coached in two NBA Finals (1996 and 2011) and two NBA All-Star Games (1996 and 1998). Last season, Casey guided the Raptors to a club-record 48 wins, an Atlantic Division championship and the third overall seed in the Eastern Conference. His squad also set a franchise record with 22 road wins and matched an all-time high with 16 victories against Western Conference opponents. Casey continued his emphasis on the defensive end of the court as Toronto ranked in the Top 10 in points allowed (98.0, 6th) and opponent field goal percentage (.450, 10th). The season turned for Casey and the Raptors following a seven-player trade with Sacramento on December 8. From that point forward the club posted the best mark in the Eastern Conference at 41-22. In the 2012-13 campaign, Casey and his coaching staff oversaw the marked development of a youthful core of players including DeMar DeRozan, Amir Johnson, Jonas Valanciunas and Terrence Ross. DeRozan established career highs in points, rebounds, assists and minutes. Johnson posted career bests in points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks and minutes. Valanciunas earned NBA Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month honours. In his first season with the Raptors, Casey took a unit that ranked near the bottom of the NBA in every defensive category and transformed the culture and results. The Raptors finished the 2011-12 campaign as the league’s season leader for greatest improvement in opponent field goal percentage and opponent scoring. Toronto ranked in the Top 10 in fewest points allowed (9th), opponent field goal percentage (8th) and three-point field goal percentage (5th). The team had finished in the bottom third of the league in all three categories in the 2010-11 season. Casey spent three seasons (2008-11) as an assistant with the Mavericks. Dallas posted a 162-84 (.659) mark during that span, winning 50 or more games in each of Casey’s three seasons with the team. Casey was in charge of a defensive unit that held its opponents to 96.0 points per game (6th in the NBA) and .450 per cent shooting from the field (8th in the NBA) in the 2010-11 regular season. In the 2011 postseason, Casey’s defense posted series victories over offensive powers the likes of Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. Dallas held its playoff opponents to 92.5 points per game and .447 per cent shooting from the floor. Toronto is Casey’s second stop as an NBA head coach. His first endeavor as a bench boss was with the Minnesota Timberwolves from 2005-07. He had the club in playoff contention with a 20-20 record when he was replaced January 25, 2007. His 2005-06 squad finished in the NBA’s top 10 in fewest average points per game and lowest opponent field goal per-centage. Casey began his NBA coaching career in 1994 as an assistant with the Seattle Supersonics. He spent 11 seasons with the Sonics where he served under longtime NBA head coaches George Karl, Paul Westphal and Nate McMillan. He was promoted to associate head coach in November 2000. Nine of his teams in Seattle finished above .500 with five winning 50 or more games. The 1996 squad won the Western Conference Championship after finishing the regular season with a franchise record 64 victories. In 14 seasons as an NBA assistant, Casey’s teams have registered a 689-427 mark (.617) with eight campaigns of 50 or more wins. His teams have qualified for the playoffs in 11 of those 14 seasons. Prior to joining the Sonics, Casey spent five years as a head coach in Japan. He also coached Japan’s National Team with basketball legend Pete Newell. In the summer of 1998, Casey coached the team to its first World Championship appearance in 31 years. From 1985-89, Casey was an assistant under legendary collegiate coach Eddie Sutton at the University of Kentucky. The Wildcats posted a 90-40 mark during that span. He also served as an assistant under Clem Haskins at Western Kentucky University from 1980-85. Casey began his coaching career at Kentucky in 1979 as a graduate assistant under Joe B. Hall. While at UK, he recruited and coached eventual NBA players Winston Bennett, Sam Bowie, Rex Chapman, LeRon Ellis, Shawn Kemp, Chris Mills, Dirk Minnifield, Irving Thomas and Melvin Turpin. Casey played collegiately at Kentucky and helped the Wildcats register a 30-2 record in his junior season and capture the 1978 NCAA Championship. A four-year letterman, Casey was named team captain his senior year and won Kentucky’s all-academic award. A native of Morganfield, Kentucky, Casey earned a degree in business administration from Kentucky in 1979. He and his wife, Brenda, have a daughter, Justine, and son, Zachary.
