It includes the visionary Hydrogen engine, already used in completely emission-BMW Hydrogen 7 vehicles and BMW ActiveHybrid technology, an intelligent, demand-oriented combination of internal combustion engine andric motor. Every BMW, in fact, includes a multi-award-winning BMW EfcientDynamics technology package as standard, boosting even furthere simultaneously reducing fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions.

Optimum Shift IndicatorTimely gear shifts are one of the most effectiveand easiest ways to save fuel. This is wherethe Optimum Shift Indicator in conjunctionwith 6-speed manual transmission comes in.It shows the driver what gear to use in orderto save fuel.

The enginerestarts as soon as the clutch is activated again.This innovation signicantly reduces fuelconsumption especially in city trafc.

Brake Energy RegenerationTo supply a battery with electrical energy, thegenerator (alternator) is permanently drivenusing engine power, which demands additionalfuel consumption. Brake Energy Regenerationmeans the generator usually only generateselectricity when the driver takes his foot off theaccelerator or the brake previously unusedkinetic energy is transformed in coasting modeinto electrical energy before being fed into thebattery. In this way, electricity is generatedwhile coasting, without consuming fuel.

Some BMW EfcientDynamics features are dependenton the cars equipment and are not available for all modelvariants. Your BMW partner will be happy to provide youwith information on all equipment details.

Disengageableair conditioning compressorIf the air conditioning is not being used, the airconditioning compressor in all diesel models isuncoupled from the belt drive, which preventsthe usual loss of energy.

mmon Rail Injection systemthird-generation electronically controlled

mmon Rail Injection system generatessure of up to 1,80 0 bar. Diesel fuel can bected with greater precision and in exactlyulated amounts. This lowers consumptionemissions while at the same time enhancingne performance.

turns on the windscreen wipers according to theintensity of the rain and independently controlsthe wiper interval. The integrated automaticdriving lights automatically switch to low beamat dusk or when entering tunnels.

Exterior mirrors, in body colour, bothelectrically adjustable and aspheric on the

drivers side. The mirrors can also be heated.Interior and exterior mirrors with automatic

anti-glare function. When a defined incidenceof light is registered from following vehicles, themirrors automatically adjust to the anti-glareposition.

Park Distance Control, front and rear,facilitates parking and manoeuvring in confinedspaces, giving an acoustic signal to indicate thedistance between your car and an obstacle. Inconjunction with an optionally availablenavigation system, the distance is also shownvisually in the Control Display.
