M r . F. H . T . U . K um alo, Supervisor o f Schools in Zululand,. was born at H arrism ith in 1895 . H e is a son o f the late C h i e f Joseph K um alo , o f Natal. H e was educated at D r ie fo n te in School and later at the A dam s T r a in in g C o llege , Natal. A f t e r passing the First Class T ea ch ers ’ Exam ination he becam e a teacher and taught at the V erdrie t Prim ary School, later at the A dam s Sem inary and then at the G eorgcd a le Interm ediate. A f t e r some years h e accepted a position in the N ewcastle Interm ediate School.
