He and his brother, on land they purchased after emigrating from Prussia, established the town of Saxonburg as a community for German settlers. This book is his diary during that voyage,

Jeremiah Belknap, John Hancock, etc., etc. The author, HannahAdams, was a distant relative of the political family, and according to the Dictionary of AmericanBiography most likely also the first woman in America to earn a living as a writer. This work was undertaken primarily to alleviate her financial situation at the time, and this second edition marks the beginning of her success in the profession. Fair. Binder’s copy.
