HALL B1 / STAND 103

DISCOVER HUECK ANEW AT BAU 2015

The more-sharply focused company profi le is of course refl ected in our entire trade fair presence: the new two-storey trade fair stand off ers convincing proof of this over a total surface area of 600 m through its openness and clarity. "The same way the Hueck team accompanies a partner throughout the construction project from planning through to completion, visitors to our trade fair stand will be

guided through the range of Hueck solutions – from sample elements and the presentation of design features through to reference properties", says Frank Schubert, head of sales at Hueck, explaining the idea behind the stand. "We are inviting customers, partners and interested visitors on a voyage of discovery here in Munich." ¬

Only our location in Hall B1 remains the same. Because not only have we restructured the entire Hueck group of companies and established the aluminium system segment as an independent company in our anniversary year 2014. Moreover, following a process of intensive analysis and change, Hueck GmbH & Co. KG has repositioned itself completely in respect to brand, products and service. On 19 - 23 January, the BAU 2015 trade fair in Munich therefore off ers an excellent opportunity to discover Hueck anew.

Following the comprehensive re-launch, Hueck's online presence is now a functional information and service medium. The key focus during conceptual development was the information needs of architects, planners and metal constructors. In addition to comprehensive product information, the user will therefore fi nd a large information and service area with catalogues and bro-chures, and many practical tools such as for U value calculation and the Hueck static programme, as well as CAD system data. If the user wishes, he or she can save documents of interest one month. In addition to this, the new reference area allows a comfortable worldwide search for suitable reference properties. Using password protected access, customers can also request order status and delivery dates. ¬

Exactly 200 years after its establishment, the traditio-nal family company Eduard Hueck GmbH & Co KG has thoroughly modernised and undergone a reorientation. First of all, the entire company has been subdivided into three independent, limited partnerships, which never-theless remain in a direct liability sharing agreement. Development, sales and services in all aspects of inno-vative window, door and façade systems made from aluminium now operate under the umbrella of Hueck GmbH & Co. KG. The production of systems and sale of industrial profiles has been taken over by Hueck Extru-sion GmbH & Co. KG. Thus, the two company segments can focus fully on their respective core competencies and nevertheless retain their proven depth in creating value – from the foundry and modern pressing plant through to final production. Within the context of this restructuring, internal company services will be carried out in future by Hueck Service GmbH & Co. KG.

"The focus on core competencies was a good reason to take a very close look at the systems under the microscope", explains Thomas Utsch, managing director of the Hueck group of companies. "In doing so, we have not only run a thorough check on company structure, product portfolio, processes and employee qualifica-

tions, but also once again worked out clearly the needs and wishes of our customers."

As part of this process, on the one hand we identified the weaknesses in order to specifically improve our performance. On the other we have made ourselves more aware of our own strengths so that we can posi-tion ourselves more distinctly on the market. "This way we can now present ourselves with a clear profile as a reliable partner for metal constructors and architects," says Utsch.

The optimisation process affects many areas: thus, Hueck has refocused and optimised the product range through innovative further development. In product management and development, new areas of respon-sibility and functions were defined and the positions newly filled. "Last but not least, we are working at full pace on providing even better service through new service offerings." One of the first projects in this regard is, for example, transparent online order tracking. "We want to focus even more strongly than we have to date on the needs of our customers and, along with innovative products and a reliable partnership, offer our customers extra added value." ¬

A strong team – with a focus on customers.

WINDOWS

INNOVATIVE NEW WINDOW SYSTEM

The trick: despite the minimal profi le depth, the Lamb-da WS 075 is highly thermally insulated and already complies with the EnEV 2016 requirements – right up to passive house level. At the same time, the new modular system allows the realisation of maximum construction sizes and very high sash weights.

In addition, developers at Hueck have further optimi-sed the successful principle of shared components for the Lambda WS 075. This intelligent concept allows especially fast and extremely logical processing by the metal constructor. Because the system has a symme-trical construction with identical chamber dimensions, profi les and accessories can be employed for a variety of applications.

Hueck is presenting the new system at the BAU 2015 trade fair in a variety of design versions, such as fi xed areas, single and double sash windows, window doors, fanlights and integrated window sashes. Furthermore, a range of highlights will be presented that illustrate the principle of shared components – including an inno-vative Hueck fi tting that can also be mounted quickly and easily in a concealed confi guration. A new handle design as well as an elegant glazing bead system for design confi gurations can also be found at the trade fair. ¬

Even more fi ligree, even better insulated and even more economical to process – inspiration for the development of the Hueck Lambda WS 075 new window system came from metal construction in practice as well as from architects. Because this system based on the proven Lamba modular system has very narrow profi le views and a profi le depth of only 75 mm, with the Lambda WS 075 it is possible to realise especially fi ligree and elegant window hinges and window facades.

DOORS

ELEGANT FRONT DOORS MADE FROM ALUMINIUM

Despite the minimal profi le depth, the completely new-ly-developed system platform has excellent insulation properties that already meet the requirements of the Energy Saving Ordinance EnEV 2016. Available in a ran-ge of diff erent designs and confi gurations, the Lambda DS 075 FD is a versatile series for fi ligree, elegant front doors with narrow profi le widths. The leaf-overlapping door inserts are fl ush on the inside and outside, while single-side exterior as well as double-sided enclosing constructions are possible.

Along with excellent thermal insulation properties, Lambda DS 075 off ers all the additional advantages of a modular system: elegant profi le widths, fi xed frames with shear-connected compound, as well as sash pro-fi les with low-shear Delta-T compound.

As part of the Lambda modular system, the Lambda DS 075 is also constructed according to the principle of shared components. This brings a signifi cant reduction in resources required by the metal construction partner for ordering and warehousing – which in turn notice-ably rationalises the total amount of processing. At BAU 2015 Hueck is exhibiting numerous opening versions and confi gurations: fi xed areas, fanlights, sidelights as well as single or double leaf doors that can be closed from the inside and outside. In addition, the visitor will fi nd emergency, push-pull, fi nger protection and semi-swinging doors for maximum construction sizes and high leaf weights. Furthermore, within the context of this, a functional and especially elegant new handle design will be presented.

Furthermore, as part of its range of front doors, Hueck will also be presenting at the trade fair another es-pecially clever innovation, in the form of the height adjustable threshold. With this solution, compensation between the door and the fl oor is achieved not in the conventional way through the door profi le but with an adjustable sealing level in the threshold – thus, without bothersome joints. ¬

Complementing the new range of aluminium front doors recently introduced, Hueck is now also pre-senting at the BAU 2015 a complete series with a profi le depth of only 75 mm. As is the case for all Lambda series, Hueck has based the Lambda DS 075 FD on the principle of shared components, making warehousing and ordering much simpler for metal construction partners.

The eight-storey office building situated on the edge of an apartment block replaces the now demolished northern wing of a three-part ensemble of buildings dating from the 1960s. As the winner of the design competition in the run up to construction, the Berlin-based architectural office, Sauerbruch + Hutton, planned an ultramodern new building that "docks" onto the eight-storey main building. In terms of height and integration, the new building matches the existing construction, but it establishes its own accentuations through a lightly curved outline, the prow-like end and its spectacular façade.

The outer appearance is given depth and structure through vertical and horizontal blades on the faça-de, which frame the individual glass elements. These deepen towards the south of the building, optimising the building's passive protection against the sun. Enamelled glass surfaces in twelve different tones of red were affixed to the lightly curving blades to create the building's changing effect. The sharply tapering outer edges of the blades achieve further emphasis through chromed profiles.

"This makes the Saint-Georges-Center always looks different, depending on the viewer's position and light conditions," explains Dominique Froehly, construction head at Hevron. Furthermore, the façade is lit up cle-verly at night. "Working together with Hueck, we have developed a special profile for the space between the interior and exterior façade, allowing the integration of LED lighting."

The Saint George Center is impressive not only for its external appearance, but also through its "inner values". For this, planners were committed throughout to sustainability – including geothermal and photo-voltaic features, and a heat recovery system. In this regard, the high-tech double-skin façade with VSG (laminated safety glass) triple glazing and integrated textile sun protection also plays a very special role. Due to an intelligent ventilation system, the interior façade has fixed glazing. Because the electric-powered sun protection louvers installed between the interior and exterior façade must be cleaned and maintained from

the outside, the elements of the SG exterior façade can be opened with invisible sashes via concealed locks. "For the implementation of this demanding high-tech façade with fixed interior glazing and an adhered exte-rior all-glass façade which is curved in part, we worked together with Hevron to fit special profiles based on the Lambda 77 XL", explains Thierry Schoenenberger from Hueck Swiss AG in Haerkingen who was responsible for the project. "The individual façade elements were completely prefabricated at Hevron's production site and later mounted on-location."

Both companies have already been working toge-ther successfully for a number of years. "We develop the special profiles and Hueck implements these for us," explains Froehly. In doing so, Hueck also stands for a guarantee of meeting respective physiological construction demands for weatherproof sealing and thermal insulation. "The relationship is very cooperative and in the spirit of partnership," Froehly adds. "Given the expert advice and good practical support from Hueck, we always have a valuable partner at our side helping us." ¬

With its striking glass façade glistening in brilliant reds, the Saint-Georges-Center, completed in 2012 in the central district of Geneva, has set a new standard in urban development. Furthermore, it is one of the first buildings in Geneva to be equipped with low-energy applications, and meets the Swiss MINEnergy standard. This also applies to the intelligent double façade with highly insu-lated, multi-layered glazing and integrated sun protection. The 4000 square metre surface of the façade was implemented by Hevron SA, a Swiss metal construction company based in Courtételle, with Lambda 77 XL special profiles from Hueck.

THE LONG NIGHT OF ARCHITECTURET H E M O S T I N T E R E S T I N G B U I L D I N G S I N M U N I C H

On 23 January 2015, within the framework of the "BAU" trade fair, the Messe Muenchen is inviting guests for the third time on a night time stroll through the architectural world of Munich. At "The Long Night of Architecture" this year a reference property from Hueck is also represented.

The Hueck reference property is the four-storey Deutsche Flugsicherung (DFS) new building opened in late 2013 at Munich Airport. The remarkable façade consisting of alternating open and closed frame elements was designed and planned by the Munich-based architectural fi rm Henn GmbH Architekten. The metal construction company Schindler GmbH from Roding mounted a total of 4000 m of Hueck façade elements for the northern, western and eastern façades – a large proportion of which are with exterior sun protection louvers. The elements are side-hung windows based on the Lambda 77 L IF series, with a window size of 1600 x 3000 mm and a sash weight of 240 kg.

The heart of the new DFS centre is the 1800 m control room, where air traffi c controllers coordinate air traffi c over southern Germany around the clock. An intelligent energy system utilises the warmth stemming from the computer centre. Fire protection and smoke control doors from Hueck's Lava series were employed for the interior fi ttings by the Jakob metal construction compa-ny, based in Waldkirchen. For security reasons, the DFS building can only be viewed from the outside during The Long Night of Architecture. ¬
