MESSAGE FROM THE

PRESIDENTKaren McRaeIt is hard to believe that my year as your Board President is approaching an end. With the help of your phenomenal Board of Directors and all of our wonderful contributing members, we have accomplished our goals that we established in January. As we began this year together, we decided on the following objectives:

1. Grow corporate membership. This has been met through our program content, corporate only round tables and emphasis on recruitment of corporate members. Tom Thiesen, Jan LeQuier and the membership committee worked hard to achieve this goal.

2. Provide quality programs for all members. Bob Packard, Lisa Burkard and the entire Program Committee are to be commended for bringing quality programs to us throughout the year. Our attendance has increased and the mission of education for our members has been met.

3. Increase communication and inclusion through membership surveys, our website, newsletter and social media engagement. Members will be receiving a survey to evaluate every aspect of the MARC organization. We hope that you will respond with your input to help us continue to provide the highest value to our members. Our newsletters have been outstanding thanks to Teresa Smith and her committee, and our website has been significantly improved due to the efforts of Mack Zittrouer, Leigh Massey and their committee.

4. Solicit members for our committees and meet regularly. Our committee membership and involvement has increased this year. The input of our members in the work of our committees makes us a more viable organization.

5. Develop opportunities for community outreach. The MARC members have chosen Camp Twin Lakes as the charity of choice for our support and we will make a $1000 donation on behalf of the MARC membership at our Holiday luncheon, along with our donations to Toys for Tots. We also awarded 3 outstanding high school seniors with scholarships of $1500 each through our partnership with the WERC Foundation. Thank you to Mike Puckett, Bill Baker and their committee for these accomplishments.

“Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit.”— Conrad Hilton, Hilton Hotels

I’d like to close this letter with my sincere thanks to each of you for your commitment, involvement and support. Your ideas and willingness to serve will assure MARC’s growth and relevance. Enjoy your holidays and time with your families. I’m thankful for each of you and the time and talents you bring to MARC.

MARC’s 2015 President andBoard Members Selected

The Nominating Committee is pleased to announce your 2015 Board of Directors

and Advisory Board Members:

MARC would like to thank the 2014 Board of Directors for their outstanding work this year!

A Special Recognition goes to Chris Chalk, Sherry Ross and Emerson Ross for their service and contributions to the board.

On Tuesday, November 25th, a team of volunteers from MARC once again had the privilege of participating in packing food boxes for distribution to the needy at the Atlanta Community Food Bank. We have now participated in this worthwhile initiative for several years, and each year we are surprised at how this organization grows, amazed at their well-honed processes as they are continuously refined, and leave with a sense of satisfaction at working hard for a worthwhile cause. Our participant numbers were down this year as we ended up with our assigned date being the week of Thanksgiving, but nevertheless, we loaded 14,000 pounds of food, equating to a whopping 11,645 meals! The Food Bank says that our shift had the second highest productivity of the month. A special thanks to our volunteers, the MARC “Dirty Dozen”: Tom Theisen, Wallace Hitt, Jeff Morris, Natalie Smith, Tracy & Kate Gorman, Charles Morrow, Leigh Massey, Kathy Householder, JP Nerny, Mark Britt, and yours truly.
