Project: Market Research & Sales Meeting
I am extremely grateful for my internship experience at Kontoor. Not only did I
have the opportunity to speak to colleagues from various departments to gain a
fuller and more holistic insight into the workings of the company, but also to work
alongside different teams under the Marketing Department to develop and expand
my knowledge and experience in this area. My work consisted of both online and
offline market research, analyzing the Tmall e-commerce consumer experience,
contributing to the Fall-Winter 2020 Designer Playbook, as well as attending the
biannual Lee Sales Meeting in Chengdu with the Visual Merchandising team.
What stood out to me the most was the level of responsibility I
was placed with - I felt more like a colleague than I did an intern. I felt included in the team and it was extremely rewarding to hear that my
contributions were worthwhile. The Kontoor team could not have been any more
welcoming and supportive throughout my internship and I would highly
recommend it to anyone looking to gain real experience in the industry.
5
CharlotteProject: Data Management & Analysis @ Business Operations
Data analysis is one field I am interested. I got two real data analysis tasks within the
two months. I learned from my supervisors about some scientific method to clean and
group the data, and how to find the insight controlled different variables. Moreover, I
tried to search some cost information from website and estimate some washing
process cost by myself, which could improve our company’s bargaining power.
Kontoor has colorful activities, such as sample sales, training workshop (I
missed it caused the bad transportation), global townhall and family days, and
sporadic drinks distribution. I hold great inclination to these activities and
enjoy the internship life very much.
Thank Kontoor for providing a meaningful internship experience to me this summer. I
enjoy the time here every day and hope I could come back in the future. ☺

Ananjan Venkatesh (Jan) Project: Sourcing work process analyst @ Product Supply
The main project which I worked on helped me to understand the importance of
timely delivery of finished garments from vendors to distribution centres as every
seemingly minor factor affecting the delivery timeline can make a huge impact at the
macro level for the sourcing business. I had the unique opportunity of collaborating
with production teams based in markets across the world and understand about the
situation and challenges faced by regional factories and propose solutions in order to
help vendors and improve their performance for the next production season.
Kontoor Brands offers a fun and flexible environment for students to work in and learn
various aspects about the denim industry. It is a new venture with
established brands so interns will not only get the chance to learn
about the traditional business structures in place, but also
contribute to growth and shaping a unique identity for Kontoor. My
experience has been invaluable and helped me gain a strong foundational knowledge
of this industry which will prove to be useful in the future.
