World Wide Pandemic….

•Incidents of the virus, Solanum, are occurring all over the globe •The virus is spread through bodily fluids and 100% deadly•There are no vaccines, there is no cure…

Page 2: Zombe attack shelter plan

Symptoms of Solanum• Hour 1: Pain and discoloration of the infected area,

immediate clotting of the wound• Hour 5: Fever, slight dementia, vomiting, acute pain in

the joints• Hour 8: Numbing of extremities and the infected area,

loss of muscular coordination, and an increased state of dementia

Victims of the Disease•Low intelligence•Average strength

•Extremely slow•Highly dangerous in large groups

What happened

• Many people from all around the world were waiting for directions from their governments.

• In North America, everyone was told to go as far north as possible because the dead freeze at cold temperatures.

• However, just like Jessika and her family, once they arrived in Canada there was nothing there to help them survive.

• Eventually, the winter became just as deadly as the Solanum virus.

What could have been done to help

• A community of shelters that protect and provide living quarters for refugees displaced by the pandemic

• A government protocol system set up in case of a zombie attack.

Page 8: Zombe attack shelter plan

Design Plans•A shelter that is strong and stabile•Must provide room for sleeping quarters and space for daily activities•Structure needs to be off of the ground for emergency protection•Also needs to be made of strong damage proof materials•Should have an area to grow food•Must be able to generate energy•Also needs some kind of system to collect water

Second Round of IdeasAs we start to expand on ideas we begin discussing a community of different shelters serving different purpose to help a larger group of survivors.

As we begin to approach are final idea we struggle with the hierarchy of the buildings.

Final Model

Page 20: Zombe attack shelter plan

Our Final Model:On the perimeter of the community there is a ten feet tall reinforced wall to protect the living from the dead. The base is a concrete cylinder form that, if necessary, could withstand extreme force from the dead. On the side of the building there are solar panels that will be able to be positioned up and down depending on where the sun is located. On the roof there will be a garden so that produce can be grown and there will also be a water collection systemThe top element will be constructed using the same materials that would regularly be used in average construction methods. This particular model was built for three people, but it is only one pod that would part of a bigger community. Other pods would be built to accommodate larger groups.
