Centers for the Arts Bonita Springsunless otherwise noted, all camps take place at the Center for Performing Arts

10150 Bonita Beach Road, Bonita Springs, FL 34135239-495-8989 www.artcenterbonita.org

There is always something fun and new for budding artists, actors, chefs, musicians and dancers at the Centers for the Arts Summer Camps! Age specific small camp classes of 15 students or less, offer students individual attention while they explore the exciting learning adventures available in the arts. Classes include “3D Design & Printing” where campers create and 3D Print objects they designed on the computer.

Through creative and engaging classes students immerse themselves in activities that use abstract and tactile problem solving skills both individually and cooperatively while having fun.

Our many opportunities include painting, drawing, cartooning, clay, wheel throwing, cooking, dance, music, theater and more. We want summer fun and learning to be affordable for your family through our generous discounts and scholarships.

95% of our applicants receive a scholarship or discount from 10% to over 90% of the class price. Scholarships and discounts are awarded on a

sliding scale based on your family’s adjusted gross income; the number of dependents in the family; whether you rent or own your home; whether you are a single parent; how many children in your family plan to take classes, and how many classes your child takes.

It is very important to the Centers for the Arts of Bonita Springs that all area children have access to the many programs and activities we offer. Fill out the scholarship and discount application in the back of this book so your child can attend art, dance, theater or music classes.

Find out how we can make Summer Camp at the Centers for the Arts Bonita Springs affordable for your family.

Page 13

3D Art & Sculptures Come and explore the wonders of 3-dimensional art and sculptures. Imagination is your guide to creating unique and adventurous artwork. Students will use clay, cardboard, paper and other found recycled materials.

3D Design & Printing Welcome to the world of 3D printing! In this class, you will learn everything you need to know to design and 3D print your own creations. Campers will use computer programs to craft their own artwork and will print them using our 3D Printer!

A Bug’s Life Create fun projects about beautiful butterflies, beetles and bees in their natural habitat. Enjoy songs and stories about the critters you find in the garden.

A World of Art Explore art techniques and traditions of cultures around the word. Discover the differences and similarities of how countries use art and create your own worldly masterpieces.

Abstract Painting This fun class takes students on an exciting adventure of exploration and discovery. Work with nontraditional tools and learn new painting techniques while creating expressive abstract works of art!

Acting For the Stage, TV, & Film Take your acting to the next level with fast paced improv games, scenes, monologues and audition skills. Actors will get the opportunity to work on a character in a scene or monologue, learn to explode onto the stage in improv and hear what directors are looking for in auditions. Participation in theatre is proven to enhance professional communication techniques that, with practice, help build confidence, unleash creativity and cultivate teamwork to assist in real-life situations at home, school and in their next big starring role on stage or screen. Actors will showcase their work at the end of the session for family and friends.

Acting Intensive Level 3 Have you ever wanted the opportunity to spend a week in the mind of a character? Study acting from the inside out? Get tips and techniques from professional Directors and Casting Agents? Actors in this week long camp will walk away with all of that and more. The scenes and monologues campers will study and memorize will be something they can carry with them in auditions for years to come. Experiences in this class will not only enhance students’ characters on stage and in front of the camera but also in real life. Communication, teamwork and real listening skills will be heightened every day.

Advanced Improv Skills and Performance Take your improv skills to the next level. You will get to try your hand at musical improv, long form scene work and some of the most fast paced games short form improv has to offer. Life skills that are enhanced by improv include teamwork, confidence, creativity and communication techniques. Camp will conclude with a final performance for family and friends.

Page 14

Adventures in Filmmaking And the Oscar goes to…you! If you’ve ever wanted to see your face on the big screen, then this is the class for you. You’ll act in your own short film and learn to edit it too.

Art Outdoors Art is all around us. Young artists take inspiration from their natural surroundings and the creatures that inhabit it. With a little imagination, flowers, leaves, twigs and shells can be transformed into works of art.

Artbots: Robotic Art Learn the basics of making a robot and using that experience to inspire works of art. This camp is creative while incorporating science into painting and building three dimensional robot sculptures.

Artful Architect In this camp students will learn the basics of architecture and design. Projects include construct-ing a small scale tree house or mini mansion! Be an artful architect on the way to developing big ideas in this camp that covers the basics of measurement, building strength, material use, and construction.

Basics to Gardening & Garden Design This is an enjoyable and eco-friendly class for learning the basics to growing plants and learning about their growth. Design your own garden and customize your pots with painting projects.

Best of Summer 2018 Campers of all ages enjoy this week of great art. Projects include a bit of everything…clay, painting, sculpture…an eclectic mix of the best of summer 2018!

Candy Shack Looking for the sweetest campers for projects based on lollipops, chocolate and chewing gum. Make works of art inspired from delicious and irresistible candy snacks.

Castles, Kings & Princesses Add adventure to your day with medieval knights, princess and castles. Children enjoy medieval music along with creating great Medieval art projects.

Clay Craft Design your own world out of clay while learning clay hand building techniques. Students will create environments from jungles to oceans to entire cities as well as the materials, animals, and characters that make up these adventurous worlds.
