Why Should You Install HeatBlocker UltraPerformance Exhaust Insulation?

1. Personnel Protection – Mechanics and operators can beshielded from the burns and injuries that occur when accidentally contacting

super-heated exhaust components.

3

Why HeatBlocker is the best productchoice for you and your customers

•The HeatBlocker outer shell is constructed of heavyweight black composite fabric (Teflon®) resistantto most chemicals, oils, and fuels. The industry standard cover is 17oz. Fiberglass cloth that crystallizes at1,000º F (537.7º C)

• Heat sensitive areas on HeatBlocker are covered with EdgeGuard™. The industry standard has noprotected edges and will burn out over time exposing the fiberglass mat.

• All seams on HeatBlocker are sewn with high temperature inconel thread. The industry standarduses fiberglass thread.

• HeatBlocker covers are designed with overlapping flaps to eliminate closure hot spots. The industrystandard panels have no overlapping flaps.

• Every HeatBlocker cover includes a rigidized inconel liner for added strength and durability. Theindustry standard has no liner or has a stainless steel liner that fractures at 1,000º F (537.7º C)

•The HeatBlocker inconel liner and fabric exterior are fabricated separately to eliminate hot spotsalong the seams. The industry standard uses panels that are sewn together causing seams that fatiguewhen exposed to heat.

• HeatBlocker fasteners are affixed to outer shell only to eliminate any transfer of heat from the hotexhaust surfaces. The industry standard fasteners go all the way through all layers of material and conductheat to the outside cover causing “hot spots” that will fatigue the outer cover and burn personnel.

• All closure points in aHeatBlocker system use either stainless steel or inconel springs. Theindustry standard uses lacing wire that adds 75% to the installation time and allows the insulation to sag intime.

• Each closure point on HeatBlocker is designed with an overlapping flap to minimize any heat loss atthese points. The industry standard closure does not overlap causing the edges to burn out exposing thefiberglass mat.

• Our unique EdgeGuard protects edges and mating parts, on HeatBlocker , from burnouts resultingfrom radiated heat at cutouts and closures. The industry standard has no protection from the escaping heat(chimney effect) that erodes insulation covers.

•HeatBlocker is fabricated with insulating mat deemed tobe non-carcinogenic by European regulators. Testingperformed according to EU Directive 97/69/EC allows theinsulating mat to be marketed without warnings of potentialcarcinogenicity. What does this mean? The CalciumMagnesium Silica Chemistry make up of the fibers in theinsulating mat are considered soluble and will be absorbed bythe body within 7 days. Other fiberglass and ceramicinsulating mats are unable to make this claim at the presenttime.
