The Red Storm are members of the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Brianna Thomas leads the team in scoring with 18.4 points per game while dishing out 56 asssists in 11 games. An attack guard, she leads the team in free throws made and attempted. Alexis Payne is adding 13. 1 points per game and is a force on the inside. The leading rebounder for Rio Grande is Brooke Marcum as she averages 10.0 per game. Three players have recorded 10 or more blocks on the season as well. As a team, URG is averaging 81.1 points while allowing 71.3 per game. They also average seven more rebounds per contest. The Red Storm are shooting 42.6-percent from the floor and 29.5-percent behind the arc. Game Day - No. 16 - December 21 Doane College vs. Shawnee State University Shawnee State begins the week with a 10-2 record and will play Doane in game two of the Florida trip, a day after playing Webber International. The Bears are NAIA Division I and have made seven consecutive NAIA Tournament appearances. The Bears rely heavily on their starting rotation with only one player coming off the bench who has played in each game and nine players total who have seen action. Four players are averaging double figures, led by the inside play of Ali Zieverink who is averaging 17.6 points and 8.2 rebounds. Ashley McMurtrey is the top scoring guard, averaging 16 points while hitting 34 3-point baskets at a 41-percent clip. The Bears are averaging 74.7 points and allowing 56.7 this year. They also hold a rebound advantage of 11 boards per game.
