Spring begins the renewal of annual growth, fresh scents andnewborn wildlife. your spirit gets excited to finally be able tolisten to the birds chirping and wood frogs clucking. Thebeauty of bursts of lush green grass with the emerging of wak-ing wildflowers reminds you that the seemingly endlessmonths of shoveling snow are over and spring is finally here.

Golf courses start manicuring and clearing, hoping for an earlyseason opener. ATVers anxiously wait for the trails to open andseasonal parks unlock their gates. Eager fishermen put awaythe tip-ups to make way for the launching of their boats intothe Wisconsin River and surrounding Tomahawk lakes andstreams. The calming of winter fades and the excitement ofspring and summer take over.

Summer brings the endless nights of camping and long daysof enjoying the many beaches in the area. Catching fish is aguarantee, but more pleasurable when you latch onto the bigone after spending the entire day on the water.

Pack a lunch and fill a water bottle as there is no better way tofully appreciate the splendors of nature than by hiking orbiking on trails including the Hiawatha and Bearskin, BradleyPark and in-town Riverwalk.

Canoeing and kayaking is great and many enthusiasts can beseen combing the calm bays of the area river and lakes. Thereare plenty of boat landings and picnic areas to stop and take aplanned break. Summer kicks in Memorial weekend with adowntown Car Show and street gathering and runs through thelong Labor Day weekend when many are getting in their lastsummer blast.

Stay in town or venture to a resort nestled in the woods. Re-gardless, Tomahawk has the Northwoods to play and thehometown hospitality to make you want to stay.

Tomahawk has many beautiful summer resorts, plus hoteland motel accommodations. But if heading into the woods is your

thing, we also have numerous camping opportunitiesranging from popular campgrounds with hook-ups

to scenic rustic river sites staggered along theWisconsin River.

The Hiawatha Trail now connects

They have alwaysperformed their shows at Kwahamot Park, which is widelyconsidered one of the best water ski facilities in the world. The combination of natural and manmade features createsa perfect ski site with calm waters and great skiing. TheKwahamots are one of the few teams anywhere (profes-sional or amateur) that can boast of permanent bleacherseating (that seat up to 1,000), stadium lights, a concessionstand, free parking, and a club house. Tomahawk STAR Foundation..................................................What is the Tomahawk Star Foundation? The Tomahawk Star Foundation serves the Tomahawk area by acting as a community chest for businesses and individuals by making charitable grants to community groups, clubs and non-profit organizations that contribute to the health and vitality of our area.

Tomahawk is a generous community and many of its businesses, families and community members have found that by making a tax-deductible contribution to the STAR Foundation, they are able to support area organizations with one gift, rather than making multiple donations throughout the year.

The Tomahawk STAR Foundation provides support to groups and/or organizations when they need it. Since its inception in April 2004, the STAR Foundation has donated more than $575,000+ to local community groups in general and restricted contributions.

Making a Donation? As a business or individual, you have two options for making tax-deductible donations to the Foundation; either general or restricted. General donations fund grant requests the Foundation receives from local community groups. If you or your organization has a specific purpose in mind, you may designate your gift as “restricted” for a particular group or program. You choose how you wish to make your contributions. You will receive a confirmation letter and receipt of your donation.

Your gift will enable our community’s spirit to continue to grow and prosper.

Please consider the Tomahawk

STAR Foundation when making your

choices for charitable donations in 2015.

Chances are someone you know has benefited

from a STAR Foundation Grant in some way.

Tomahawk STAR Foundation 2015 Donation Cardq YES! I want to make a difference in the lives of people here in Tomahawk.

Enclosed please find my donation in the amount shown below.
