Welcome to the 8th Minnesota HR Tech Expo & Conference produced by LEHRN.org, the Leading Edge HR Network. We produce this event for you – the community of HR systems professionals and the companies for whom you work. Sweeping trends and changes are underway: implementing disruptive technology, changing workforce demographics, dismantling of the classic org structure, elevating the employee experience, and driving decision-making with data analytics. All are realities radically reshaping the world-of-work. MORNING KEYNOTE JONATHAN FERRAR IBM WATSON’S IMPACT ON HCM – NOW AND IN THE FUTURE In 2011, IBM Watson technology shocked the world by beating reigning Jeopardy! champions Brad Rutter and Ken Jennings in front of 15 million TV viewers. By 2014, IBM Watson was helping oncologists decide on treatment plans by mining patients’ medical records and pairing that information with knowledge from medical journals, textbooks, and treatment guidelines. JONATHAN FERRARSmarter Workforce IBMJonathan is a respected influencer in the fields of HR Strategy, Workforce Analytics and the Future of Work. He is an active blogger and speaker and regularly gets asked by clients to advise them on topics related to improving business performance through people.

Jonathan currently leads IBM’s Smarter Workforce Science & Analytics business. This business has over 3000 clients served by 800 people across all major geographic countries worldwide. It is a cloud business with SaaS technology and approximately 150 Industrial Organizational / Business Psychologists bringing a human edge to client engagements.

Prior to this role, Jonathan has five years of HR Strategy, Transformation and Analytics experience. He has led IBM’s internal Workforce Analytics function and delivered HR Strategy projects to CEO level. He has managed global budgets for HR up to $1B.

Overall, he has worked in three different global companies across a twenty five year career. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Cambridge, UK and a Diploma in Human Resources Management from Kingston Business School, UK.

In addition to his IBM responsibilities, Jonathan is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development in the UK. He is based in New York and splits his time between USA and UK. In 2014 he was listed as one of the Top HR Analytics Influencers in the world on LinkedIn and is currently writing a book on Workforce Analytics which will be published by Pearson Education in 2H 2016.

CHRIS AMSELLEMSmarter Workforce IBMChris is the technical sales leader for IBM’s Talent Analytics team and joined IBM through the Kenexa acquisition. With Kenexa, he’s managed pre-sales consulting team for the Learning group as well as the Talent Management team

where they meet with customers about the benefits and technical features of the Smarter Workforce portfolio. Prior to the Kenexa acquisition, he was a Marketing Manager and product evangelist with OutStart. Prior to this, he was the Project Director at a media agency having a background in video and multimedia production. Chris also holds a Masters of Education in Instructional Technology from the University of Georgia.
