Trip Award Winners
Wisconsin State 4-H Youth Conference
The State 4-H Youth Conference is often considered a “beginner trip” but it is in no way light
on fun, learning and rich 4-H experiences. Participants are able to take advantage of
sessions such as sailing, rock climbing, youth leadership and more. This is often a member’s
first experience with the statewide arts teams of which Sheboygan County has always been
a part. We are proud to announce the following delegates that have been selected to
represent Sheboygan County in Madison next summer.
Heather Klepin TJ Jesinski
Harrison Miller Caelyn Kaiser
Mallory Brooks Samantha Schwartz
Claire Roberts Owen Beumler
American Spirit Experience
This is an educational experience that focuses on increasing the understanding and
appreciation of American Heritage. Youth study American Heritage, develop leadership
skills, and learn about citizenship. They also travel with other youth from our region of the
state, adult coordinators and chaperones to Philadelphia, Boston, New York, Lexington, and
Niagara Falls. Delegates from Sheboygan County, grades 8-10 can be selected. The
American Spirit Trip will be held the third week in June and we will send the following
delegates to represent the Sheboygan County 4-H Program.
Carolyn Britt Connor Bruckner (alternate)
Aubrey Schwonek Faith Specht (alternate)
Paige Schwonek
Citizen Washington Focus
The Citizenship Washington Focus trip is in Washington D.C. This is a 9 day event focusing on
educating youth on citizenship while visiting many sites of interest in our nation’s capital. The
following 10th-12th grade delegates have been selected to represent the Sheboygan
County 4-H Program.
Morgan Boenisch Hannah Morse
4-H National Conference
This four-day event brings together 4-H youth from across the country for education and
celebration on a variety of timely public topics. These 11th-12th grade delegates are
selected to represent Sheboygan County 4-H in Atlanta Georgia for this experience.
Tessa Parrish
11
4-H National Congress Trip
The National 4-H Conference is the premier civic engagement opportunity for 4-H members
(15-19 yrs.) who are actively engaged in 4-H programs across the U.S. and its territories. The
conference is administered by 4-H National Headquarters of the National Institute of Food
and Agriculture within the U.S. Department of Agriculture and held at National 4-H
Headquarters near Washington D.C. This experience upholds a tradition dating back to 1927.
Delegates attend training workshops, become acquainted with government and have the
opportunity to meet with state leaders.
Tessa Parrish Isabel Fuentes de Rehm
Wisconsin Key Award
The Wisconsin 4-H Key Award Program recognizes a select group of 4-H participants who
have demonstrated consistent growth in their 4-H involvement, developed and applied their
leadership skills and actively participated in the functions of their 4-H club and community.
To be eligible, candidates for this award must be at least 9th grade or older, and must have
completed at least three years of 4-H and one year of youth leadership.

Barbara Scholten County-wide
Barb Scholten started out as a sewing leader after her mother-in-law asker her on behalf of the Lucky
Clovers 4-H Club. As a past 4-H member she decided that being a project leader was only natural.
She later became the General Leader of this 4-H Club. Barb has served as an older youth advisor,
helped at 4-H camp both at Camp Anokijig and Wisconsin Dells. She has been part of both Base
Camp and Outpost Camp adult staff. She has chaperoned numerous experiences including trips to
Illinois, Iowa and Barron County and has helped for the past 20 years with the 4-H Older Youth
Conference in Madison, Wisconsin. She has served as Secretary and President of the Leaders
Association twice. She currently serves as the Superintendent of the Rabbit and Cavies at the
Sheboygan County Fair. Barb finds it very rewarding to meet past 4-H members as adults and support
them in getting their children and grandchildren involved in the program. Barb says, “It is very
rewarding to see 4-H members achieve awards and scholarships for their hard work in 4-H knowing
you have helped them get the awards, scholarships and any other recognition they deserve.”
