Dear Colleagues,

It is with great pleasure I invite you to be involved in the 2021 USANZ WA State Section Meeting, to be held at the Pullman Bunker Bay commencing Friday 01 and concluding Sunday 03 October.

Our invited guest presenters, Matthew Bultitude, Ben Challacombe and Rick Popert from the UK, will be presenting virtually.

We strongly encourage delegates to submit their own abstracts to be considered for inclusion within the final scientific program and contribute to the overall educational experience.

The social program consists of the Saturday night conference dinner at Wise Winery and promises to be an exciting evening complete with music and fantastic food.

I look forward to welcoming you all to the meeting, which will, with everyone’s contribution and involvement provide both a strong educational program and pleasurable experience for delegates.

The 2021 Urological Society of Australia & New Zealand’s Western Australia State Section Meeting will be submitted for accreditation with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons

for points towards 2021 CPD totals.

Guest Presenters

Matthew Bultitude - UK

Matthew Bultitude is a general urologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital with a specialist interest in stone disease. Since January 2018 he is clinical lead for the urology department.

He undertakes a wide range of general urological procedures and has a sub-specialist interest in the medical and surgical aspects of stone disease. Matthew has been involved in a number of clinical research projects. His thesis as part of his MSc assessed the safety of flexible ureteroscopy. His clinical papers have included management of stone disease in the morbidly obese; encrusted ureteric stents; flexible ureteroscopy; renal trauma.

Ben Challacombe - UK

Ben Challacombe was appointed consultant urological surgeon to Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in 2010 following his dedicated da Vinci robotic fellowship in Melbourne, Australia. He is able to offer patients complex surgery of the prostate, bladder and kidney, with a particular focus on laparoscopic and robotic procedures, as well as HoLEP laser treatment for benignly enlarged prostates. His specialist training included periods at Guy’s and St Thomas’, The Royal Melbourne and The Royal Marsden Hospitals.

He has performed over 1000 Robotic Radical Prostatectomies, over 380 Robotic Partial Nephrectomies (the highest number in the UK) and over 600 Holmium laser prostatectomies. He is involved in academic research into prostatic and kidney disease having written over 190 peer-reviewed publications and 20 book chapters on this subject. Ben won the Rowan Nicks UK and Ireland Scholarship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2009 and lectures for Prostate Cancer UK.

Rick Popert - UK

Rick Popert was appointed as a consultant in 1996 having completed his higher surgical training at Guy’s Hospital and urological research at King’s College Hospital. Mr Popert’s clinical expertise is in the comprehensive evalulation and surgical treatment of benign and malignant prostatic disease. He has the UK’s largest experience of single visit dynamic intra-operative prostate brachytherapy and has carried out over 800 of these cases since 2004, with Dr Stephen Morris and Dr Ronald Beaney, Consultant Clinical Oncologists.

He is an expert in Precision Prostate Diagnostics and has developed a rapid access prostate MRI assessment service with Dr Giles Rottenberg, Consultant Radiologist, along with a unique systematic transperineal biopsy.

A cancellation fee of AUD$200.00 applies for registration cancellations prior to Friday, 03 September 2021. No refunds applicable for cancellations

after Friday, 03 September 2021.

Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. Neither USANZ nor Taylored Images will accept liability for damages of any nature (including financial) sustained by participants, or loss or damage to their personal property in the event of industrial disruptions or natural disasters. Insurance is the responsibility of the

individual delegate.

It is highly recommended you take out a suitable travel insurance policy including coverage for non refundable registration fees when you register for

the meeting and book your travel.

The Organising Committee of the USANZ WA State Section Meeting invites you to participate in the 2021 event being held between Friday 01 and Sunday 03 October at the Pullman Bunker Bay.

The 2021 Convenor, Matt Brown invites expressions of interest to present on all urological and uro-oncological topics.

The Committee will select a number of abstracts to present.

• Abstracts need to detail proposed presentation in no more than 250 words and supplied in MSWord format

• Author first names/surnames should be explicit to minimise ambiguity use first initials and last name

• Proposed presentations should appear in 4 sections: Introduction; Patients or Materials; Methods; Results and Conclusion

• References are essential
