Therefore, we must act! The first reading, from the prophet Isaiah, gives us very straightforward instructions: “Thus says the Lord: Share your bread with the hungry, shelter the oppressed and the homeless; clothe the naked when you see them, and do not turn your back on your own.” The Lord gives no wiggle room here — care for our brothers and sisters in need is a “must do” for the Christian steward.

WORLD MARRIAGE DAY: this Sunday, honors the husband and wife as head of the

family and a reflecon of God's love and His image. We celebrate the beauty of their

faithfulness, sacrifice and joy in daily, married life. The faith which is passed on from

parents to children is what helps the Church grow. The purpose of observing Marriage

Sunday is to recognize the importance of the Sacrament of Marriage and to affirm couples who by their wit-

ness, strengthen the faith of their parishes and communies.

Meet our Candidates

and Catechumen

Catechumen: Celeste Harcus: When I

arrived in Calgary, I soon connected with

someone who introduced me to the Ro-

man Catholic Church. Having never learned

about organized religion in my life thus far I

was intrigued and started to research more

about it. I began to pray, parcularly the

rosary as a way of feeling connected to a God I wanted to get to know

be9er. Good things come to those who pray and I was blessed with

Gianni. I was welcomed by his Catholic Italian family and learned so

much more about praccing the faith from people who pracced all

their lives. I inquired about RCIA as I knew becoming a Catholic was

something I truly desired. As we get closer to the Easter Vigil I ask you

for your prayers that I become a “good” Catholic. Celeste.

Stewardship is an important concept for our spiritual growth as

Catholics. It is a way of thanking God for all His blessings by

prayerfully returning to Him a poron of the me, talent and

treasure we have received. “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your

good works and give glory to your Father who is in heav-

en.” (Mahew 5:16)

The generosity of being a good steward of your gias has a

posive effect on people, and it is contagious! Good works

encourage more good works. Let your light shine! Be care-

ful to recognize that God is working through you and don’t

put yourself above the people you have been called to

help.
