With six films slated for release through 2020 and at least 11 additional projects in development, the DC Extended Universe is Warner’s most valuable movie franchise.

DC characters are a draw in the TV and video game mediums as well, and future productions stand to be important entertainment releases.

DC is also a driver for the company’s consumer products division, with related retail sales topping $4.5 billion in 2016.

LEGO is one of Time Warner’s most versatile properties, spanning movies, toys, and video games. It also crosses over with properties outside of the company’s franchise umbrella including Star Wars, The Avengers, and Jurassic World.

Warner has scored critical and commercial successes with its two theatrically released LEGO movies, and it has at least two more on the way.

Upcoming film releases in the franchise are likely to be accompanied by video game and toy tie-ins.

Mortal Kombat

Mortal Kombat is one of Warner’s standout video game assets, and record sales for the series’ most recent entry suggest there’s a bright future for the dark and gritty fighting-game franchise.

Warner is also aiming to bring Mortal Kombat back to the big screen. A movie based on the hit gaming property is in development at the company, with Justin Lin set to direct and a 2019 target release date.

J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them successfully reintroduced author J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World to the big screen, grossing over $810 million and receiving a big merchandising push.

Four Fantastic Beasts sequels have been announced, with the first set to bow in 2018.

Trademark filings also indicate that Warner has secured the rights for a trilogy of films based on the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child stage play.

After a successful reintroduction of Godzilla to the big screen in 2014, Warner’s 2017 release Kong: Skull Island is putting up a solid box-office performance, and the company is working on a connected film universe built around the two famous movie monsters.

Warner has a Godzilla sequel slated for March 2019 and Godzilla vs King Kong set for May 2020. Additional films are likely to follow if the currently announced projects prove successful.
