According to the company, over the past two years they have been developing a new range of products for the taxi industry which integrate Wi-Fi, GPRS and Bluetooth technologies. The also develops solutions connected to the taximeters in order to manage fleet of taxis, vehicles and bring more fares and more visibility to passengers. ATA also offers products such as printers, payment terminals, fleet management systes, dispatching services, tablets and cloud solutions for taxi companies.

Sebastien Andrieu, CEO, ATA, says, “We believe that taxis are extensions of a country’s tourism identity. Dubai is among the leading cities here in the region when it comes to tourism and, of course, in technology. We would like to bring our offerings here to help improve the Emirates’ offerings when it comes to these two major verticals.

“Through GITEX, we would like to penetrate the UAE market by reaching out to potential partners and resellers, and in the longer run expand our presence in the Middle East region,” adds Andrieu.

and 4G launches planned in a further eight markets.

The Arab States encompasses 18 markets across the Middle East and North Africa. The number of unique mobile subscribers in the Arab States as a whole reached 199 million at the end of 2014, equivalent to 54 per cent of the region’s population. However, the levels of market maturity vary considerably across the region in line with economic development; the Arab States are home to three countries – Bahrain, Kuwait and the UAE – that have penetration rates above 75 per cent, but also four (Palestine, Sudan, Syria and Yemen) where fewer than half the population has a mobile subscription.

In 2014 the mobile industry in the Arab States made a total contribution

of $115 billion to the regional economy in value-added terms, equivalent to around 4 per cent of the region’s total GDP. It is forecast that this contribution will grow to $160 billion by 2020, equivalent to 4.5 per cent of projected regional GDP by this point.

The mobile industry is also a key source of jobs and public funding in the region. It is calculated that the industry directly and indirectly supported 1.3 million jobs across the Arab States in 2014, a figure expected to surpass 1.5 million by 2020. The mobile ecosystem also made a total tax contribution to the public finances of the region’s governments of $12.6 billion in 2014, excluding regulatory fees and spectrum auction payments. It is forecast that this contribution to public funding will rise to $14.3 billion by 2020.

With Qatar set to post one of the region’s strongest IT growth rates to 2018, the 35thGITEX Technology Week 2015 is seeing a strong presence from national industry leaders to drive ICT innovation agendas, and network with industry experts.

Thanks to large-scale infrastructure and government projects in transportation, healthcare, and education, Qatar’s IT services market growth is set to outpace that

of Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait, according to IDC. The combined IT market of those four countries is set to grow by 61 percent from USD 1.1 billion in 2014 to USD 1.82 billion.

Accessible, high-speed, and affordable broadband technology will lay the foundation of Qatar’s near future, in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 goals to enhance the quality of life residents and the country’s diversified economy.

Qatar-based communications company Ooredoo is serving as Platinum Sponsor of the co-located GSMA Mobile 360 Series Middle East, with Jurgen Gase, Director of M2M, Ooredoo Group speaking on the topic of “Embracing the IoT Opportunity.”

“As Qatar continues to develop its diversified economy, enterprises across all sizes and verticals must be prepared to adopt the latest ICT services to deliver on the Qatar National

The Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) today announced that it has appointed Fujitsu to implement Oracle Siebel CRM to help manage its customer-facing operations when inspecting the standards of food safety in the manufacturing and distribution of food in Abu Dhabi.

As part of its first project, Fujitsu

will be implementing the Siebel CRM with ADFCA’s AIRS project. The project forms part of ADFCA’s efforts to achieve sustainable livestock development and to ensure better quality meat and milk in the emirate.

Following the implementation, due to go live in January 2016, the ADFCA’s current technology footprint will migrate into a seamless

and unified operational system. The ADFCA will be able to operate within a unified platform with integration, providing stakeholders such as vets and inspectors with an end to end solution.

The Siebel CRM solution will convey a more detailed background on customers concerned with the handling of food, livestock, and agro-technologies by centralising all data inputs. ADFCA will also be able to standardise the inspection process to help the industry better adhere to food safety guidelines.

The Siebel CRM functionality will extend to field workers at ADFCA who will be able to utilise Siebel Enterprise Applications on mobile devices using the SAP Mobility Platform for real-time updates.

AdFcA opts for Fujitsu A customer service module that includes compliant management, a risk management module and a database for the food industry in Abu Dhabi will also be built owing to Oracle’s end-to-end customer lifecycle solution.

Ali Yousef Al Saad, Acting Director of Communication and Community Service Division, ADFCA, said, “Whilst safeguarding the standards in food and agriculture, we also want to make ADFCA a customer-centric organisation by delivering a seamless service that is easy for stakeholders in the industry to follow and abide by. By putting customers at the center of our strategy, we can be a partner to their business and collaboratively contribute to the well-being of the community and citizens of Abu Dhabi. This has been the driver for implementing Oracle Siebel and why we chose Fujitsu.”
