Dell... fast lane pens Unify deal humble beginnings, the company has grown exponentially, and has now positioned itself to be an end-to-end solutions provider for their customers. “It has truly been a phenomenal week here at GITEX,” says Driss el Ougmani, General Manager Middle East, Africa and Turkey, “and it is a great time to be a part of Dell.”

Yesterday, the company announced its latest offering, perhaps the most significant refresh to its OptiPlex commercial PC portfolio in five years, the Wyse 5050 AIO zero client for VMware. “This is huge for our customers in the GCC,” says el Ougmani. “According to IDC, Dell was the number one provider of

thin clients worldwide for 2014.” The company is set to top that record, as this year, Dell has shipped more thin clients than any of their competitors. These new offerings are designed to increase employee productivity by helping them seamlessly connect to the business critical data and applications they need to get the job done.

“A lot of customers are used to seeing vendors talk in silos,” says el Ougmani, “They simply don’t have the offerings to speak otherwise.” Dell has done the footwork to deserve its new hashtag, #onedell this year. To check out the plethora of new offerings from Dell, visit the stand in Hall 6.

Fast Lane Computer Consultancy, today announced a partnership with Unify, as its first authorised training centre for Middle East.

“Fast Lane’s success thus far is due to the solid strategic alliances we have built with our bespoke vendors.” said Josef Miskulnig, Founder and CEO of Fast Lane. “Our mission is to empower the region’s talent with the knowledge and expertise required for today’s technological challenges. Unify’s architecture and product portfolio is dedicated to transforming how the enterprise communicates and collaborates. They are focused on empowering an increasingly mobile workforce to work better together and energize the business.” he continued. “Fast Lane is excited to

partner with Unify. We are committed to deliver exceptional service and value to our customers by employing and dedicating the best technical team in the industry. Our designation as a Unify Authorized Training Center only strengthens our portfolio and highlights our unique skill set.”

Bashar Bashaireh, VP, Middle East, Unify, said “This strategic partnership is in line with Unify’s global push for our channel growth and enablement.” he continued. “We chose Fast Lane for their state-of-the-art training facilities, their technical resources and presence across major cities in the Middle East.

This will help broaden the community of Unify certified users and enable them acquire the necessary skills to best implement and operate our product portfolio.”

A recent report from Cybersecurity Ventures, a leading research and business development firm, has forecast that the cybersecurity market in the Middle East and Africa region (MEA) is expected to grow to USD 13 billion by the year 2019, covering an expected compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13 percent in the next five years.

Salvador Anglada, Chief Business Officer of Etisalat said, “Cybersecurity threats are becoming more diverse and frequent, and pose greater

dangers than ever for businesses worldwide. As cybersecurity gains strategic priority for organisations in the Middle East, organisations are looking to have flexibility and scalability to adapt to changes in the environment. Our agreement with Palo Alto Networks is significant as it adds value to our existing security portfolio, which offers our customers network, cloud, and data center security services. These new services will provide organisations a strong security partner ecosystem, incorporating end-to-end security throughout the network infrastructure.”

René Bonvanie, Chief Marketing Officer, Palo Alto Networks, said, “We are very pleased to team with Etisalat in

bringing to organisations across the Middle East region next-generation security that can prevent successful breaches. Providing access to advanced protection in a way that enables our joint customers to manage both their risk and their security budgets significantly contributes towards the strengthening of the defences that protect our digital lifestyles.”

Etisalat’s current managed security services cater to businesses, reflecting the essential security services required by an organisation in UAE. Etisalat’s agreement with Palo Alto Networks will further expand this portfolio and provide enterprise and businesses leading edge security services.
