Part 1 - GENERALDescriptionWork included: Furnish materials, labour and equipment for the complete installation of aluminumentrance doors, door frames and hardware as detailed on the drawings and specified herein.Work not included: See Specifier list.Related work specified elsewhere: See Specifier list

Quality AssuranceDrawings and specifications for work in this section are based upon Desa series: 100, 350, 500, 100T/B,350T/B & 500T/B doors. Whenever alternative products are to be considered, submit supportingtechnical literature and samples for review and comparison by Consultant 10 days prior to closing date.

PerformanceDoors to fully comply with applicable standard specifications as typically referenced to the followingrequirement criteria: Air and water tightness, wind and other load resistance.

Maintenance and GuaranteeProvide maintenance and cleaning data in accordance with instructions under General Conditions.Provide a written guarantee from substantial completion for a period of one year on the completeinstallation of materials and workmanship provided under this section.

Part 2 - PRODUCTSMaterialsExtrusions shall be 6063 T6 alloy and temper, formed aluminum components shall be of suitable alloyand strength to suit their purpose and function.Fasteners shall be made of corrosion-resistant and compatible materials and of sufficient size andstrength to perform their intended function.Glazing gaskets shall be extruded black, santoprene of durometer appropriate to perform theirintended function.Weathering shall be elastomeric or wool pile and of size and density appropriate for their intendedfunction.

FabricationConstruct door from extrusions of size and shape as shown on shop drawings, rails and stiles shall beporthole type extrusions.Corner joinery shall be accurately assembled with mechanical clip fasteners and deep penetration plugand fillet welds.

FinishAll exposed surfaces shall be free of scratches and defects. Aluminum extrusions shall be finished asselected by Specifier.Standard Clear Anodizing: AA-M12C22A31 Duracron Acrylic Enamel: AAMA 2603Standard Bronze Anodizing: AA-M12C22A31 Duranar Fluoropolymer paint: AAMA 2605Standard Black Anodizing: AA-M12C22A44Various Bronze Anodizing colours and Paint qualities are available upon request by the Specifier.

HardwareHardware shall be the entrance manufacturer's standard unless stated otherwise by the Specifier. Ifalternative hardware is selected by consultant the required templates and physical hardware must besubmitted for assembly and fabrication.

InstallationDoors shall be installed, glazed and adjusted according to the manufacturer's instructions andapproved shop drawings. All items in this section shall be set level, square and plumb, and at theircorrect location and alignment with other work.
