In addition, Red Stripe™ has the capability to create in country Train the Trainer programs such as Combat Medic Certification equivalency based on U.S. Military Fighting Doctrine and course syllabus. Corner Stone: Tactical Combat Casualty Care All Combatants (TCCC-AP) (1 week)

Background: In 1996, the Naval Special Warfare Command developed a new set of tactically appropriate battlefield trauma care guidelines named TCCC. The TCCC guidelines were adopted by the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) and approved by the American college of surgeons (ACS) and the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT). The committee on TCCC was established in 2001 and was directed to further develop the TCCC standards and guidelines. The committee on TCCC functions as a working group of the trauma and injury subcommittee of the Defense Health Board (DHB). The full blown TCCC training initiative started

in Operation Enduring Freedom and was implemented across all the service branches under the insistence and full support of the Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. In his words: «I am tired of writing letters to parents informing them of their children dying on the battlefield». The impact was immediate and adopted as the standard for all U.S. forces.

Goal: Eliminate preventable loss of life on the battlefield by providing standardized training to improve first responder care at the point of injury. The implementation of TCCC across all services has been identified as one of the contributing factors to the highest combat casualty survival rates in history.

Course Scope:The TCCC-AC Course has become the standard of care for the tactical management of combat casualties within the Department of Defense and the NAEMT for casualty management in tactical environments. The focus of the instruction is to give the soldier the ability to quickly recognize, evaluate and control life threatening wounds, airway compromise and chest trauma, that present during a tactical mission by using an Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK) and/or aid bag. The soldier will learn to integrate tactical and technical skills during rigorous scenario training. This 1-week (40- hour) is open to all personnel irrespective of medical training and back ground.

Course Prerequisites:Open to all ranks (enlisted and officer). Must be able to read and write in native language. All personnel will be TCCC certified and have sustainment training for TCCC every 12 months or within 90 days of deployment to a combat zone.

Tactical Combat Casualty Care for Medical Personnel (TCCC-MP) (2 weeks)

Course Scope:TCCC-MP course is designed to introduce military and law enforcement medics to the dynamic world of tactical medicine. Through many years of experience working with both military special operations and combat operations, we offer an extremely realistic, physically and mentally demanding course. This course provides the medic with the core fundamentals of TCCC required to support and operate as a medic on a combat team or in supporting tactical operations. This course covers topics designed to decrease preventable death in tactical situations. The students will learn to integrate advanced tactical and technical skills during rigorous scenario training. This two-week (80-hour) course and is open to only medical personnel.

Course Prerequisites:Open to all ranks (enlisted and officer) certified combat medics. Must be able to read and write in native language. All personnel will be TCCC certified and have sustainment training for TCCC every 2 years or within 90 days of deployment to a combat zone.

Basic Combat Medic Certification for Medical Personnel (68W*) (20 weeks)

Course Scope:This course trains the combat medic in skills necessary to become an effective soldier and medical care provider. The student receives training in emergency care, evacuation, minor acute care, inpatient and outpatient care, and basic force health protection. The student receives specific training in combat and military operations casualty care, tactical combat casualty care, medical care for patients exposed to weapons of mass destruction, (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear - CBRN), deployable medical systems, aircraft and ground evacuation, and casualty triage and processing. Graduates from this course and train the trainer course can go on to be TCCC instructors.

Course Prerequisites:Open to all ranks (enlisted and officer) certified combat medics. Must be able to read and write in native language. All personnel will be TCCC certified prior to attending this course. All personnel will have sustainment training for 68W every 2 years.

Advanced Combat Medic Certification for Medical Personnel (68W1*) (44 weeks)

Course Scope:This course trains the combat medic in skills necessary to become an effective soldier and Advanced Combat Medical Care Provider. This course qualifies soldiers as highly-trained combat medics with the wide-ranging skills and abilities to provide initial and prolonged medical and trauma care and aptitude to increase team survivability. Also, this course is designed to equip the Advanced Combat Medic with the knowledge and skills required to manage combat casualties from initial point of injury through delayed evacuation situations. The student receives extensive training in Anatomy & Physiology, Pathophysiology and Pharmacology, Physical Exams, Clinical Medicine, Combat Trauma Management and Prolonged Field Care (PFC). Additionally, the course teaches the Advanced Combat Medic skills which enable him to provide appropriate treatments for medical and trauma patients with minimal equipment and support in austere environments in accordance with tactical medical emergency protocols. They are also qualified in Basic Life Support, Pediatric Education for Pre-Hospital Providers and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Graduates from this course and train the trainer course can go on to be 68W instructors.

Course Prerequisites:Open to all ranks (enlisted and officer) military service members who currently hold 68W Combat Medic Qualification and have at least three years assigned as a 68W Comat Medic. Must be able to read and write in native language. All personnel will be TCCC certified prior to attending this course. All personnel will have sustainment training for 68W1 every 2 years.

Advanced Combat Medic Certification for Medical Personnel (18D*) Information on request.

Prolonged Field Care (PFC) for Medical Personnel (5 weeks)

Purpose: Prolonged Field Care (PFC) is now recognized internationally in Special Operation Forces (SOF) medicine as an area of key emphasis on education and training. In 2013 U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) initiated the PFC group to further study ways to save lives on the battlefield. In order to decrease mortality and morbidity in combat due to delayed evacuation or increased time and distance to advanced medical care facilities the combat medic has to be able to provide life sustaining interventions for 24-72 hours until medevac is available.

10 Capabilities of Prolonged Field Care1. Monitor the patient to create a useful vital signs trend2. Resuscitate the patient beyond crystalloid/colloid infusion3. Ventilate/oxygenate the patient4. Gain definitive control of the patient›s airway with an inflated cuff in the trachea (and be able to keep the patient comfortable5. Use long term sedation/pain control to accomplish the above tasks6. Use physical examination/diagnostic measures to gain awareness of potential problem.7. Provide nursing/hygiene/comfort measures8. Perform advanced surgical interventions9. Perform telemedicine consult10. Prepare the patient for flight.

Upon completion of this 5-week Red Stripe™ training course (TCCC+PFC) the Combat Medic can be able to immediately engage in active operations providing the critical thinking and skill set needed to perform life sustaining care.

U.S. University Affiliations - Trauma Rotations and Courses

Due to Red Stripe™’s physician leadership core, it has many affiliations with U.S. University Institutions that can provide clinical rotations and exposure to U.S. based medicine and trauma training. These are highly structured intense programs that are designed to benefit a trainee in the shortest amount of time in order to achieve maximum exposure.

Training Cadre All Red Stripe™ instructors are U.S. ex-special forces with Advanced Combat Medic designations (68W1, 18D, FMF Navy Corpsman, SARC, Marine Recon) and a vast experience in teaching foreign indigenous forces. They have multiple combat tours and first-hand experience in saving lives. The valuable lessons learned during these experiences serve as a platform for constant updating of the Red Stripe™ Training Curriculum so the Client always receives the latest and most up to date information for their organizations. Red Stripe™ has the ability to teach higher level courses all the way to training Trauma Surgeons to U.S. standards.

Red Stripe™ has been tasked by numerous clients abroad to bring this and other life-saving courses to their armed forces and organizations. This is the basic premise for Red Stripe™'s existence and well-deserved international reputation in combat medicine.
