EXPERIENCEMedfusion Laboratories 2501 South State Highway 121, Lewisville, TX

I am currently a Senior Coder at Medfusion and work a long side with another coder. My current duties at Medfusion include Client EP responses: when we receive and updated diagnosis from our client it is my job to enter the new code to the patient’s accession and get the claim refiled to insurance. Another one of my task are to work the missing diagnosis, the no valid diagnosis, no ABN outstanding charges buckets. My goal with these is for them to be worked before we ever have to send the client correspondence letters. I am over the

coding department email and making sure we are getting timely responses. Also, I am currently over big projects and increasing revenue. We currently work with about 1000 clients. Making sure that our clients are

happy but still adequately doing our job to get claims out the door is our biggest priority. I oversee all new test that are submitted though the company by verifying the CPT codes. Keep up with the new ICD 10 and CPT

changes that come out each year. I sit in on new test development meetings with the CFO, CEO, CCO and head pathologist of the lab. My goals are learning molecular coding inside and out as well as applying my previously

OBX Toxicology Lab 1313 Valwood Carrollton, TX 75006Certified Professional Coder/November 2015- Current

At OBX Labs I am a certified coder that reviews all codes that we receive on the requisition forms from each sample. We provide Toxicology screening to over 50 different clinics. My goal is to code each requisition form to the highest level of specificity while working with doctors and nurses to do so. Each week I create a report to get an analysis

for how many samples have to be recoded or sent back to the provider and what comes in clean to increase our overall numbers. We are also working towards the goal to bring billing in house instead of going through a third party company and by having a coder

they believe it will be easier to achieve that goal. Also as well as coding I help our insurance verification rep verify each patient’s insurance policy and make sure all of their information is correct before submitting to billing. I am currently the point of contact for

all medical offices and our employees when they have coding questions.

I am currently working on becoming a certified professional biller as well as a certified OBGYN coder. My goal is to be able to be a senior coder and help others acquire more

information about coding!

EXPERIENCE

Clinics of North Texas 501 Midwestern Parkway, Wichita Falls, Tx 76306

Biller/Back office System Auditor/ Certified Professional Coder 10/2012 – October 2015

My primary duty at CNT is billing for the OBGYN’s and the Pediatric Physicians. When charges come across our electronic import it is my job to review each charge for the

patients. I have to make sure that the correct procedure codes and diagnosis are submitted properly to various insurance companies. I also have to work several reports throughout the month as well as collecting pre-certs for all of our OB patients to deliver at the hospital. My second duty is the system auditor. My role in that position is to make

sure that every payment that was collected from the cashiers, customer service, and receptionist were posted appropriately to the correct patient’s account. I have to balance to a bank audit daily as well as monthly. If payments are voided I have to research and

find out why they were voided and make sure the payment was reposted.

Also, during my time at this particular Clinic I gained my CPC License. I passed my CPC exam in December of 2014 and became ICD 10 certified in September of 2015. I have

been coding and reviewing charts since I started in my billing position. This past year I was also given the opportunity to create an ICD 10 training guide/class for the OBGYN

physicians to attend.

EXPERIENCEComanche County Memorial Hospital 3802 West Gore, Lawton, OK

Receptionist/Payment Poster 12/2010 – 9/2012At Comanche County Memorial Hospital I started out as a receptionist at Medaccount Services. Our office was for patients that had questions about their bill. My duties as a receptionist were greet patients that came in to pay their bill, answer all incoming calls

and direct them to the right patient representative, retrieve faxes and pass them out, sort mail that came in daily into different insurance carriers, and scan all documents received

via mail. After 6 months of that position I decided I wanted to try something new!

Payment PosterMy duties as a payment poster were posting payments received from Medicare. After

posting all payments to each individual account, I also had to work recoups and denials as well as overpayments. As well as payment posted I balanced others batches to make sure that the money that was received was posted accurately to each patients account. The reason I left Comanche County Memorial Hospital is because my husband’s job was

relocated to Wichita Falls Texas.
