Workshop Goals

Provide additional info on eClass Grades, beyond the basic “1 grade per term usage”.

Provide an alternative to managing two separate gradebooks, via use of eClass.

Highlight options and customizations available in eClass.

Working with eClass Grades

An Overview

At the Start of the Term

Access your school’s eClass Data Server. Using the eClass “Generic Class” file,

import your eClass Rosters, and create your eClass “Class Files”.

Define Assignment Categories. Setup Assignments. Setup Styles/Report Preferences. Save a Backup of your Data.

During the Term

Add Assignment Categories. Add Assignments. Create Seating Charts (if desired). Enter Scores & Comments. Print Reports (if desired). Periodically update your Class Rosters. Save a Backup of your Data.

At the End of the Term

Print Reports (if desired). Export Term Marks to the Server. Save a Backup of your Data.

Use Comments from Mac School (shown in italics) Only these comments will be sent up with Term

Marks. From the Class menu, choose Comments

and add your own Comments to the file NOTE: Do not edit/delete existing MacSchool

(via control-click or right click)

Enter Comments

Backup Your eClass Data!

Save a copy of your class files to a memory stick, file

server, external drive, floppy, etc…

What is a “Style” File?

“Style” Files are created to save the many options chosen for a given report or reports.

Use the “Default” style before printing or “Open Style” (for your saved styles).
