What do we mean by Implementation?

• Day-to-day decisions about teaching in the classroom

• Catering to individual students’ needs & learning styles, interests, dynamics of the class, etc.

• Pacing • Individual teacher’s style of teaching

Autonomy

• Relationship between L and T autonomy• Complete freedom vs Flexibility and

responsibilities (within certain constraints)• All Ts at different stages of autonomy

Fostering T Autonomy:

• Ongoing professional & personal development• Constructive feedback on performance • Encouraging materials production• Opportunity to make choices • Openness to feedback • Circulation of responsibilities

Teacher Involvement Ownership & Empowerment

• Feedback on text book to inform future choices

• Purposeful meetings & focus groups • Feel part of the decision-making process• Team projects for Ts• Ts having a say on St performance• Flexibility of implementation• Appreciation & recognition

Building a Learning Culture
