The show follows two crooks (one an experienced and successful con artist and the other learning the trade and how to live well off the money) as they compete to scam a rich American woman into giving them $50,000. They make a wager on who will be first to get her money and form a sort of thieves’ alliance. It’s full of intrigue and fun and has a great musical score.

Monthly Coffee

The speaker for our March Coffee with be the program director for the Park City Film Series, George Dymalski. Originally the film series was formed by the Park City Arts Council and became the film series we know in 1999. Mr. Dymalski has been selecting the films to be shown at the series for over ten years. Come to our coffee and learn how this non-profit went from using its board members selecting the films to George and a film broker and their process.

The Park City Film Series is the Sundance Art House Project Theater. It was designed to recognize theaters in North America that embody a benchmark of programming,community involvement and operations. Come and find out more about what locals do in the dark.

Our Coffee begins at 10:00 am with our speaker beginning at 10:30 am. Activity chairs will inform you of upcoming events. Lunch will follow at the The Wine Dive 1251 Kearns Blvd, featuring good food and wines by the glass. There is ample free, flat parking. Hope to see you there!

Fine Dining for Eight

Members of this group will be divided into smaller groups and will dine in members homes, no more than 8 people per home. Each month groups will be mixed, giving everyone a chance to get to know other members better; both singles and couples are invited to join.

Menus and recipes from fine restaurants will be provided; the Host will provide the main course and the wine. The responsibilities for cooking side dishes, appetizers, and desserts will be divided among the participants and all expenses for the dinners will be divided equally. If you join this group, you must be willing to host a dinner; the number of host houses will depend upon the number of people signing up.

This is a fun group of local singles! The goal is to get together monthly for a variety of activities; plans include dinners at local restaurants, con-certs, lectures, Operas at the movie theater and more. Wine Tasting Group

The Wine Tasting Group is on Spring Break for the month of March. We will be back in April and we need hosts for our future tastings! This is a fun evening with minimal requirements for the host/hostess; this group is always manageable regardless the size of your home and remem-ber: all attendees bring an extra bottle of wine for the hostess so by hosting, you will end the evening with more wine than you started with! Have you ever thought about taking Pilates but aren’t sure what it is or what is does for our bodies? This is your oppor-tunity to learn by listening and watching as well as trying it for yourself. The Range Pilates Studio has created an Introduction to Pilates just for our Newcomers group. Tracy Powers, the owner, will give an overview of Pilates and its various forms. Range instructors will then demonstrate these methods on the equipment. It’s then your turn to give it a try !! Separate stations will be available for your experience, including Pilates Reformer, Pilates Chair, Pilates Tower and Gyrotonics.

In addition, Range will offer a special Newcomers 15% dis-count on any exercise apparel or props purchased or ordered that evening. The same wonderful 15% discount applies to group classes or private lessons booked that evening. Range will work with us to create special classes or you can even create your own group! You can pick classes or private lessons with dates to be determined later. Appetizers will be served. BYOB if you want wine too. We will go next door to Grub Steak for dessert if you build up an appetite or just want to socialize some more.

Wear comfortable clothing, as you would for yoga or the gym.

VERY IMPORTANT: You must RSVP to this event so we know how to plan the food and arrange for enough Pi-lates instructors.

Yoga

Yoga will continue through the Spring on Tuesday mornings at Basin Rec. at Newpark. No previous yoga experience is necessary. Classes will cover the foundational poses of yoga as well as some very simple breathing and short, sweet introductions to meditation. It is designed to give everyone a taste of yoga and all it’s benefits. Yoga helps to bring the body mind and heart together so that with practice you can find a calm steady presence in all your endeavors, on and off the mat. All are welcome, all ages, all abilities. The class is an easy, fun introduction to an age-old tradition. Classes are co-taught by Edie and Kristen.

Shooting Group

Saturday weather is moving into the more acceptable range (temps in the 40s and a fair amount of sun), so watch for “Shotgun Saturday” emails a few days before each weekend. Pistol sessions are usually scheduled only a couple of weeks in ad-vance, so if you aren’t already on the mailing list, send your email to kgmiller1966@gmail.com.

Note: Marylou and I will be away for the entire month, but bowling will continue in our absence. Anyone who wants to bowl should ID as newcomers to obtain our special rates.

UNIVERSITY OF UTAH PARK CITY INSTITUTE

The University of Utah Park City Institute is kicking off their season of lectures and bringing their exper-tise to our neighborhood! This lecture series seeks to provide a snapshot of the ongoing research, out-reach, and achievements being accomplished on the U of U campus every day. Beginning Wednesday March 9, 2016 and continuing once a month through September 2016, the University has arranged for a different topic each month to be presented by a variety of talented professors from the University of Utah and for the venue, has part-nered with Utah Olympic Park: all lectures will take place on the 3rd level of the Legacy Center at Utah Olympic Park, 3419 Olympic Parkway, Park City.
