Get the right tools

There’s a wide array of equipment to choose from, but don’t buy the latest and most expensive one just because everybody is crazy about them. Pick the camera, lenses, tripod, etc. that is only necessary for the photos that you usually take.

No matter how advanced your camera is, you won’t be able to benefit from it if you don’t know how to use it. Take the time to learn the ISO, Aperture and Shutter speed to get the best out of each shot.

Break the rules

When you’re already familiar with your cameras functions, don’t stick with the basic rules. Have fun with it. You get the most unique and spontaneous shots from experimenting.

Take closer shots

Don’t feel like you have to fit an entire stadium into one frame. Try moving closer to a specific subject that you really want to capture and you’ll get a better outcome.

Composition

The easiest way to understand good photograph composition is to learn the Rule of Thirds. Divide the frame into nine equal parts by two equally spaced horizontal and vertical lines. Then put your subject on the lines and intersections to create a more interesting shot. You don’t want a photobook with a ‘Subject on the Center’ theme right?
