Our first Chapter event
for the year was a
huge success. Thanks
to everybody who at-
tended our ASPE
Plant Tour at Victaulic
Bermad Technologies.
I know we've become accustomed to
"touring" facilities that produce either
beer or whiskey, but it was a welcome
change to visit a facility that was more
directly involved with our plumbing
industry. Thanks to everyone from
Victualic and Bermad for allowing our
Chapter to tour the VBT facility!
Although our annual Product Show is
still months away, I wanted to inform
everybody that we have had to
change the date of the show due to
some scheduling conflicts with the
Westchase Marriott. The show will
now be held on the second Wednes-
day of April, 4/13/16. Times for the
technical seminars and product show
will remain the same as last year. We
will be posting more info about the
product show on the website soon, so
keep an eye out for that.
For those that are interested in taking
the CPD Exam, keep in mind that the

registration is now currently open
(aspe.org). The Houston Chapter
will again be holding our annual
CPD Training course, by our very
own Donald Taylor, for people inter-
ested in preparing for the exam. The
class is free and will be held on Feb
20th-21st, with a mock exam on
March 12th. For more info or to reg-
ister for a spot please contact Don-

Lastly, I wanted to inform our Chap-
ter that we recently inducted a new
Board Member to our Houston
Chapter. For the past few months
we've been without a Corresponding
Secretary on the Board. We had
reached out to Jeremy Charmchi-
zadeh, with DBR, to see if he would
be interested in filling the open posi-
tion and he recently accepted. Jer-
emy has already made his presence
felt by attending our general meet-
ings, AYP events and product show
committee meetings. So congratula-
tions to Jeremy! We look forward to
having a young EIT point of view on
our Board!
Yakir, Angela Vinson, or Mario Per-
nas for hosting and setting up a
great event.
Don’t forget the upcoming general
meeting on February 3, 2016. It’s
hard to believe we haven’t seen eve-
ryone since November. We have a
great show scheduled this month.
Bill Hudson with Nupi Americas will
be presenting on Polypropylene Pip-
ing Applications. They have also
offered to sponsor lunch for all engi-
neers/designers in attendance.
Please remember that ASPE is a
great way to obtain CEU’s and net-
work with various colleagues. Our
monthly lunch meetings as well as
the Product Show classes are avail-
able. If there is a topic you would like
discussed please let me know and I
will try and set something up. There
are still openings available to be a
presenter at the March general lunch
meetings and of course at the 2016
ASPE-Houston Product Show in
April of 2016. If you are interested in
presenting at any of these events

Welcome to the
Houston winter
everyone. One
day it’s 65 de-
grees then we
get a week of the
cold, rainy, damp
stuff that keeps
us inside. Don’t worry the Rodeo
and springtime is right around the
corner. Another thing that is right
around the corner is the 2016 ASPE
Houston Product Show. If you have-
n’t heard the date of the show is
changing to April 13th, 2016. I know I
won’t be the only one reminding you
of this, but just in case you only read
the VP-Tech article each month now
you know.
I wanted to thank everyone from
coming out to VBT Plant tour on
January 21, 2016. The folks with
VBT, Victaulic and Bermad put on a
great event. Their was a discussion
on PRV Technologies for Building
applications, a mockup of a PRV sta-
tion, and they also displayed how
they perform UL and FM tests on
their valves. VBT provided a great
dinner and were a very gracious
host. So a big Thank You to Nadav
