Design Thinking

An approach to solving design problems by understanding users' needs and developing insights to solve those needs.

Scrum Methodology

Scrum is an agile way to manage a project, usually software development. Agile software development with Scrum is often perceived as a methodology; but rather than viewing Scrum as methodology, think of it as a framework for managing a process.

Bloom Taxonomy

A classification system used to define and distinguish different levels of human cognition—i.e., thinking, learning, and understanding.

Game Design Principle

1. Type 2. Game Mechanic3. Input

Type Of Games

1. Action Games2. Adventure Games3. Role Playing Games (RPG)4. Strategy (RTS/ MMO)

Game Mechanics

Major task + RuleThe most iterative partContain start state and goal state

Game Play (mind map)

1. Plot2. Objective (Mission)3. Rule

General Planning GM

1. Health/ Damage2. Collecting coins and items3. Inventory system and its usefulness4. Unrealistic or magical power

Tetris

1. Line clearing / Full temp2. Scoring and Level ups3. Rotating and placing 4. Spawning5. + + +

Counter Strike

1. Hit point2. Aiming and shooting3. Reloading4. Item buying and inventory 5. Running, Hiding, Jumping

Inputs

1. PC2. Mobile3. Console4. VR

Game Balancing

SymmetryAsymmetry

Things

CardsUnitsWeapons

Balance Ratio

Cost / BenefitHit Count

Use math, Feels right, Play test

Profit - > Happiness

A ‘cost’ is use for a ‘benefit’ .

Intransitive relationship (Counter Way)

If 3 things to choicePaper Scissor rock game

If

1 - > 21 - > 32 - > 32 - > 43 - > 4

3 - > 54 - > 54 - > 15 - > 15 - > 2

Age of Mythology

Three counter match

Archer - Cavalry - InfantryHuman - Hero - Myth Crush - Sword - Arrow - Building

Concept Art

Constrained by toolMust be faster PrototypeShare your feel across artist and collaborate See the picture and feel it

Virtual planning

Theme (cartoon, magical, realistic)How detail on models or imagesDriven theme for color and brightness

Color

Unifying colorGive a desire mood

Color HSV

Color complementary

After watching some pictures

Story

The Fluffy-Bunny Story

Story

Story -> passiveGame story -> Interactive + Animate Design + well design Core

6Cs of Story

1. Context2. Characters3. Conflicts4. Climax5. Conclusion6. Curve

Context = Scenes

An Environment, to restricts the scope of the story.

Large Scenes (Timeline) = Less DetailSmall Scenes (Timeline) = More Detail

Three main to analysis

*** Emotion ***** Theme **

* Motivation *

Your Perspective

Ask

What / Who How Why – Why – Why – Why – Why (I accept this reason)

Who = Character

Make Them Care

Simple Traditional Example

1. The Protagonist2. The Antagonist

The Hero is kill the dragon and save the princess!

Rising Action

1. Interactive now?

4 Kind of Conflicts

1. Men vs Men2. Men vs Society3. Men vs Nature4. Men vs Himself

Men -> something Artificial

Climax

The life there is best adapted to the area

Frozen, Disney

Conclusion or Spine

1. What does its say?2. What is the theme beside with you?

Practice <Movie/ Story>

Curve

Three Art Structure

1. The Set Up <Inciting Incidence>2. The Confrontation <Conflicts Placement>3. The Resolution <Final Congratulation>

Some Question Again

1. Where are we?2. Who are we following?3. Opposed to the protagonist?4. What and why these characters want to

accomplish?

Some Question Again

5. What is Ensuring conflict and why its exist?6. Where phase character rise?7. Where is final crisis?8. Story resolves?

Character action

Story start … action … semi story … action … story goal

Story goal = Life beyond the limit

Angry Bird

Clash of Clan

Time for your turn

Once upon a time, what is ordinary? One day, What happen? Why this happen? How to solute this happened? How will this feel nice?

But in your home

1. Game Goals Idea Sheet2. Protagonist Idea Sheet3. Antagonist Idea Sheet 4. Settings and Levels Idea SheetLast - Tell your story up to 100 time 100 friends

Doing with time frame

15 minute, Read book (not internet, not your written, not school lessons)15 minute, Spread out (may be talking alone)1- 2 minute, Walk and Don’t think anything.28 minute, Review this.
