Potter Library Website: 2008

Internal Assessment

• Less clicks on the homepage meant a very deep site

• Patrons were confused by the titles of main categories

• Multiple clicks for important information

Addressing the Issues• 2009-2010: A Web Group was created to strategize new

organization, changes to content and appearance • Membership included representation from various departments in

the library

• Keeping Stakeholders in the Loop• While organization and look of the site was being discussed by the

smaller Web Group, content was divided among librarians for edits and updates

• Students and faculty were also consulted about content, language/descriptions used, and quick links

New Library Site Launched: 2010

Changes Implemented

• More information and quick links moved to homepage

• Multiple access points with close attention paid to descriptions

• Organized by user group not services
