Camboon Primary School An Independent Public School Newsletter Assembly HUGE congratulations to students and all staff in EC2 and EC3. I was impressed to see our students speak with confidence and perform their item in front of such a large group (twice!) It is exciting to know that these students are just starting their learning journeys and that Camboon PS will support them as they grow. Fathers Day breakfast HUGE congratulations also to the P&C for this lovely inaugural event. The vibe at the school that morning was extremely positive. To see the great turn-out and the way students were interacting and enjoying the morning was amazing. I look forward to this being an annual event. Click here to see photos and more information on our website. School Board We met on Monday night to review the 2020 Contribution and Charges list and the Personal Items list, which were approved by the School Board. P&C We met on Monday night and it was fabulous to see new members attend. We had the largest group since Ive been at the school! The meeting raised lots of discussion on possible future fundraising opportunities. The P&C continue to provide our school with funding support from events like the Book Fair and we truly thank them for their hard work and support. Year 6 camp Next week our Year 6 students and staff will be attending camp for three days. This is always a very exciting time and students develop more self-confidence during this time. The activities and time away from home provides them with a range of opportunities and I look forward to attending one of the afternoons to share in their experience. Communication Protocols The Minister for Education, Sue Ellery, has released some new Communication Protocols, developed in consultation with unions, and principal and parent associations. These were developed to promote a shared responsibility for providing safe, supportive and productive learning environments. Please read and discuss the roles and responsibilities with your children also. We have a wonderful school community with positive relationships and we want to ensure that this continues. I thank you for your support with this. Please refer to the attachment for further information. AUSSIE OF THE MONTH The Aussie of the Month Award is a West Australian primary school based award program which has been in operation for over ten years, with the participation of hundreds of schools across the state. Like all of our awards the ‘Aussie of the Month’ recognises personal endeavour, achievement and contribution to the community. The awards also reflect some of the values we share as Australians, a sense of fair play, generosity of spirit, commitment to community, participation and a real concern for the environment.
