ENGLISH VERSION According to C40’s Deadline 2020 Report, the efforts of cities to tackle climate change over the next four years will be key to achieving the ambitions of the Paris Agreement. The most successful and prosperous cities of the future will be those that can transition to become green, sustainable and inclusive. Women leaders played a critical role in negotiating the Paris Agreement and continue to drive ambitious climate action in cities, businesses and NGOs around the world. Women make up more than half the world’s population and are often disproportionately impacted by climate change. Their leadership and participation are therefore critical in solving this global crisis. C40 and the Municipality of Lima will contribute to the emergence of the next generation of climate leaders by sharing knowledge and experiences through an ambitious mentorship programme dedicated to women in C40 cities. “Lima, Mujeres por el Clima” Mentorship Programme aims to empower women and promote their leadership through the construction and strengthening of their capacities for the development of initiatives that respond to the challenges of climate change in the city of Lima, promoting climate action, sustainability and resilience. Each woman selected for the programme will engage in collective sessions with mentors and receive training that enhances communication and advocacy skills, addresses barriers, and inspires deeper engagement with climate change. Participants will receive all the support they need to become even more powerful leaders in their chosen field, and advocates in climate action, women and cities. Lima is the 15th city to launch a Women4Climate Mentorship Programme in C40 network. Currently there are mentoring programmes running in: Paris, Mexico City, Quito, Tel Aviv, Montreal, London, Vancouver, Auckland, Sydney, New Orleans, Addis Ababa, Freetown and Barcelona.

All applications need to be submitted in English or Spanish to the online form on the C40 website. The judging panel is looking for evidence from candidates of ongoing commitment to climate action in cities and innovative projects or approaches. If you have a climate change project that you are currently working on, or an idea for a future project that you hope to launch with the support of the “Lima, Mujeres por el Clima” Mentorship Programme, please include details in your application. Applications for the “Lima, Mujeres por el Clima” Mentorship Programme will open from May 1st, 2020.

APPLICATION PROCESS

The closing date for applications will be May 24th, 2020, at 23:59 (Lima, local time). Any application received after the closing deadline will not be considered. Any incomplete application forms will not be considered. All valid applications will be examined by the selection board, who will select 20 pre-selected women. All candidates who submitted a valid application will be notified of the decision on their application by email, no later than June 7th, 2020. The 20 pre-selected women will be invited to a training session for the presentation of the projects to the jury under the 'pitch elevator' modality, who will select the 10 selected women to be the mentees of the programme. The successful applicants will be expected to attend an orientation online meeting, on a designated platform, on July 9th, 2020. Before commencing the online application, please carefully review the selection criteria.

Projects, led by women, should involve the citizens and communities of Lima whenever possible, providing an inclusive climate action approach. Project's objectives may be global, but they must be related to climate action at the urban level, with the potential to be replicated in other cities. In addition, they must have a focus on financial sustainability and move citizen action networks. Projects or ideas presented must be directly related to the environmental and climate policy in Perú, and the environmental and climate agenda of the city of Lima. The judging panel will consider applications from all professional sectors granted that their proposed project is related to one or more of the following topics:

o Sustainable transport o Ecosystems and water o Solid waste management o Education and communication

• The “Lima, Mujeres por el Clima” Mentoring Programme is intended for women living in

Metropolitan Lima. They must be over 18 years old and belong to a network, organization or social collective.

• All participants in the “Lima, Mujeres por el Clima” Mentoring Programme must have the commitment to face climate change throughout their activities.

PROJECT SELECTION CRITERIA

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

• All candidates need to have an intermediate level of English: part of the activities will be delivered in English and communication will be encouraged between mentees from others C40 cities hosting a mentorship programme.

• They will be expected to attend regular meetings in online platforms for the training,

mentoring and inspiring leadership sessions. Depending of the local context, some events could be in person.

• The Women4Climate initiative seeks to promote diversity, C40 and the Municipality of

Lima will receive requests from women of different origins. Among the type of profiles expected to be found, C40 and the Municipality of Lima listed some below, however, the jury will consider applications for diverse profiles:

§ Researchers, and academics whose projects will revolutionize future lifestyles

and help increase climate action in the city of Lima; § Journalists, who communicate the impact the climate emergency is having

across Lima and the country. § Members of civic/green/urban technology start-ups in the field of initiatives

related to climate change; § NGO volunteers and activists who focus on citizen participation on

environmental and climate issues; § Public servers, community leaders and citizens involved in local climate

policies seeking help to promote local projects or who wish to mobilize communities in their cities or districts.

The training and mentoring process of the “Lima, Mujeres por el Clima” Mentoring Programme will have a duration of 8 months, from July 2020 to February 2021. It consists of around 50 hours of sessions divided in 3 types of activities: • Training sessions (24-30 hours), which are divided into 12 training sessions focused

on project design and management, climate change, public policy, local action, role of women in climate action, empowerment, public speaking and advocacy;

• Mentoring (12 hours), with direct consultations and calls to assigned mentors in order to receive feedback, follow-up and guides to consolidate their ideas within the project and/or initiative presented;

PROGRAMME

• Inspiring leadership (10 hours), networking sessions for the exchange of experiences and connecting with national and international experts from allied institutions on issues related to the role of women in climate change and sustainability in cities.

The programme will conclude with the closing event "Women for Climate Action", to be held in March 2021, where the apprentices will make the final presentation of their projects, worked on during the programme, using the “pitch elevator” methodology, awarding and recognizing them and their mentors.

From the applicants to the “Lima, Mujeres por el Clima” Mentoring Programme: • Complete the requested registration forms with truthful and verifiable information.

From the participants as mentees of the programme: • Attend to, at least, 80% of the scheduled dates, both training, networking and Mentoring

Programme events. • Actively participate and book meetings with mentors in advance for the duration of the

programme. • Once the programme is finished, be a spokesperson for what you have learned during

it, committing to make a minimum of 3 presentations from the thematic axis of your project within the year after the training.

Active participation is vital for the success of the development of the apprentices; therefore, participants must ensure that they can meet the aforementioned commitment requirements, before submitting their application request. The Municipality of Lima reserves the right to exclude programme participants in the event of repeated absences, absences from meetings, and poor communication with the Municipality of Lima, the organizers of the programme, and/or mentors throughout the duration of the programme.

By applying, the participants authorize that throughout the "Lima, Women for the Climate" Mentoring Program, they can be recorded on videos and photographs while participating on activities related to the programme. These communication resources may be disseminated by the Municipality of Lima, and replicated by partners, solely for the purpose of dissemination and promotion of the program. • It is expected to develop communication materials, which will be used in campaigns,

activities, reports, publications and other communication resources associated with the

mentoring programme "Lima, Women for Climate". These resources will be disseminated by different communication platforms, with the mention and logos of the partners of the programme.

• Videos, photographs, statements, testimonies, among other communication content that will be generated during the programme, may be published on the networks and platforms of the Municipality of Lima, and replicated by the partners, all within the framework of the Mentoring Programme.

The participants agree to maintain confidentiality with respect to the content, intellectual and industrial property to which they will have access through the mentoring programme "Lima, Women for Climate", even after completing the programme, except to the extent necessary to the implementation, dissemination and promotion of this initiative.

• Industrial property and intellectual rights of the ideas and projects related to the

participants; • From their participation in the programme, the mentees give the organizers permission

to use non-confidential information in their promotion and dissemination activities; • The organization and partners that are part of this initiative will not be responsible for any

violation of intellectual property, misuse or plagiarism by the participants or external members.

Protecting the privacy and personal data of the participants is of utmost importance for the Municipality of Lima, C40 and the programme's partners. By applying, the participants authorize the City Services and Environmental Management Department of the Municipality of Lima to carry out the treatment of their personal data within the framework of the "Lima, Women for Climate" programme, having knowledge that at any time they can revoke your consent or make use of their ARCO rights, according to the Personal Data Protection Law. The information provided by the participants will be used to evaluate their application, and facilitate their participation in the "Lima, Women for Climate" Mentoring Programme. To do this, C40 will share your information with the selection board, and the jury, made up of professionals from the Ministry of the Environment, Scientific University of the South, United Nations Development Programme, Municipality of Lima, among others. Las ciudades más exitosas y prósperas del futuro serán aquellas que puedan hacer la transición para convertirse en verdes, sostenibles e inclusivas. Las mujeres líderes desempeñaron un papel fundamental en la negociación del Acuerdo de París y continúan impulsando una acción climática ambiciosa en ciudades, empresas y ONGs de todo el mundo. Las mujeres constituyen más de la mitad de la población mundial y, a menudo, se ven desproporcionadamente afectadas por el cambio climático. Su liderazgo y participación son, por lo tanto, críticos para resolver esta crisis global. Las participantes recibirán todo el apoyo que necesitan para convertirse en líderes más fortalecidas en su campo elegido, y abogarán por la acción climática, las mujeres y las ciudades. Lima es la ciudad número 15 en lanzar un Programa de Mentoría Women4Climate en la red C40. Actualmente existen programas de mentoría en: París, Ciudad de México, Quito, Tel Aviv, Montreal, Londres, Vancouver, Auckland, Sídney, Nueva Orleans, Addis Abeba, Freetown y Barcelona.

Todas las solicitudes deben enviarse en inglés o español al formulario en línea en el sitio web de C40. El jurado está buscando evidencia de candidatas de compromiso continuo con la acción climática en las ciudades y proyectos o enfoques innovadores. Si tiene un proyecto de cambio climático en el que está trabajando actualmente o una idea para un proyecto futuro que espera lanzar con el apoyo del Programa de Mentoría “Lima, Mujeres por el Clima”, incluya detalles en su solicitud. PROCESO DE POSTULACIÓN

La fecha de cierre de las solicitudes será el 24 de mayo de 2020 a las 23:59 (hora local de Lima). Cualquier solicitud recibida después de la fecha límite de cierre no será considerada. No se considerarán los formularios de solicitud incompletos. Todas las solicitudes válidas serán calificadas por el comité evaluador, que seleccionará 20 mujeres preseleccionadas. Todas las candidatas que presentaron una solicitud válida serán notificadas de la decisión sobre su solicitud por correo electrónico, a más tardar el 7 de junio de 2020. Las 20 mujeres preseleccionadas serán invitadas a una sesión de capacitación para desarrollar la presentación de sus proyectos o ideas al jurado, bajo la modalidad de “pitch elevator”, que seleccionará a 10 mujeres para ser las aprendices del programa. Se espera que las participantes seleccionadas asistan a una reunión de orientación en línea, en una plataforma designada, el 9 de julio de 2020. Antes de comenzar la solicitud en línea, revise cuidadosamente los criterios de selección.

Los proyectos o ideas, liderados por mujeres, deben involucrar a los ciudadanos, ciudadanas y las comunidades de Lima siempre que sea posible, brindando un enfoque de acción climática inclusiva. Los objetivos del proyecto pueden ser globales, pero deben estar relacionados con la acción climática a nivel urbano, con potencial a ser replicado en otras ciudades. Además, deben tener un enfoque de sostenibilidad financiera y mover redes de acción ciudadana. Los proyectos o ideas presentadas deben estar directamente relacionados con la política ambiental y climática en Perú, y la agenda ambiental y climática de la ciudad de Lima. El jurado considerará las solicitudes de todos los sectores profesionales, siempre que su proyecto propuesto esté relacionado con uno o más de los siguientes temas:

o Transporte sostenible o Ecosistemas y agua. o Gestión de residuos sólidos o Educación y comunicación.

• El Programa de Mentoría “Lima, Mujeres por el Clima” está dirigido a mujeres que

residen en Lima Metropolitana. Deben ser mayores de 18 años y pertenecer a una red, organización o colectivo.

• Las participantes en el Programa de Mentoría “Lima, Mujeres por el Clima” deben tener

el compromiso de enfrentar el cambio climático a lo largo de sus actividades.

CRITERIOS DE SELECCIÓN DE PROYECTOS

REQUISITOS DE POSTULACIÓN

• Todas las participantes deben tener un nivel intermedio del idioma inglés: parte de las actividades se impartirán en inglés y se alentará la comunicación entre aprendices y profesionales de otras ciudades de C40 que alberguen un programa de mentoría.

• Se espera que las participantes asistan a reuniones periódicas en plataformas en línea

para las sesiones de capacitación, mentoría y liderazgo inspirador. Dependiendo del contexto local, algunos eventos podrían ser en persona.

• La iniciativa Women4Climate busca fomentar la diversidad, en ese sentido, C40 y la

Municipalidad de Lima recibirán solicitudes de mujeres de diferentes orígenes. Entre el tipo de perfiles que se espera encontrar, C40 y el Municipalidad de Lima enumeraron algunos a continuación, no obstante, el jurado considerará las solicitudes de perfiles diversos:

§ Investigadoras y académicas, cuyos proyectos revolucionarán los estilos de

vida futuros y ayudarán a incrementar la acción climática en la ciudad de Lima; § Periodistas, que comunican el impacto que está teniendo la emergencia

climática en la ciudad de Lima y el país; § Miembros de start-ups de tecnología cívica/verde/urbana en el campo de

iniciativas relacionadas al cambio climático; § Voluntarias y activistas de ONGs que se centran en la participación

ciudadana sobre temas ambientales y climáticos; § Servidoras públicas, líderes comunitarias y ciudadanas involucradas en

políticas climáticas locales que buscan ayuda para promover proyectos locales o que deseen movilizar comunidades en sus ciudades o distritos.

El proceso de capacitación y mentoría del programa “Lima, Mujeres para el Clima” tendrá una duración de 8 meses, iniciando en julio de 2020 hasta febrero de 2021. PROGRAMA

• Mentoría (12 horas), con consultas directas y llamadas a mentoras asignadas para recibir comentarios, seguimiento y guías para consolidar sus ideas dentro del proyecto y/o iniciativa presentada;

• Liderazgo inspirador (10 horas), sesiones de trabajo en red para el intercambio de experiencias y conexión con expertos nacionales e internacionales de instituciones aliadas sobre temas relacionados con el rol de la mujer en el cambio climático y la sostenibilidad en las ciudades.

El programa concluirá con el evento de clausura "Mujeres por la Acción Climática", que se llevará a cabo en marzo de 2021, en el marco del Día Internacional de la Mujer, donde las aprendices harán la presentación final de sus proyectos, trabajados durante el programa, utilizando la metodología de "pitch elevator", premiando y reconociéndolos a ellos y a sus mentores.

De las postulantes al Programa de Mentoría “Lima, Mujeres por el Clima”: • Completar los formularios de registros solicitados con información veraz y verificable.

De las participantes como aprendices del programa: • Asistir, como mínimo, al 80% de las fechas programadas, tanto de formación, inspiración

y eventos del Programa de Mentoría. • Participar activamente y reservar con antelación las reuniones con sus mentoras. • Una vez acabado el programa, ser una portavoz de lo aprendido durante este,

comprometiéndose a realizar un mínimo 3 presentaciones a partir del eje temático de su proyecto dentro del año posterior a su participación.

La participación activa es vital para el desarrollo exitoso de las aprendices durante el programa. Por ello, se requiere que puedan cumplir con los requisitos de compromiso, antes de presentar su solicitud de aplicación. La Municipalidad de Lima se reserva el derecho de excluir a las aprendices del programa en caso de ausencias repetidas, inasistencias a reuniones, y mala comunicación con la Municipalidad de Lima, los organizadores del programa, y / o las mentoras a lo largo de la duración del programa.

Al postular, la participante autoriza se les pueda grabar videos, y tomar fotografías participando en las actividades relacionas al Programa de Mentoría “Lima, Mujeres por el

Clima”. Estos recursos de comunicación podrán ser difundidos por la Municipalidad de Lima, y replicados por los aliados, únicamente con fines de difusión y promoción del programa. • Se prevé elaborar materiales de comunicación, el cual será utilizado en campañas,

actividades, reportes, publicaciones y otros recursos de comunicación asociados con el programa de mentoría “Lima, Mujeres por el Clima”. Dichos recursos serán difundidos por distintas plataformas de comunicación, con la mención y los logos de las instituciones y empresas aliadas.

• Videos, fotografías, declaraciones, testimonios, entre otros contenidos de comunicación que se generarán a partir del programa “Lima, Mujeres por el Clima”, podrán ser publicados en las redes y plataformas de la Municipalidad de Lima, y replicado por nuestros aliados, todo ello en el marco del programa de mentoría.

Las participantes se comprometen a mantener la confidencialidad con respecto al contenido, la propiedad intelectual e industrial al que tendrán acceso mediante el programa de mentoría “Lima, Mujeres por el Clima”, incluso después de finalizar con el programa, excepto en la medida necesaria para la implementación, difusión y promoción de esta iniciativa.

• La propiedad industrial y los derechos intelectuales de las ideas y proyectos pertenecen

únicamente a las participantes; • A partir de su participación en el programa, las aprendices brindan el permiso a los

organizadores, para usar información no confidencial en sus actividades de promoción y difusión;

• La organización y los aliados que hacen parte de esta iniciativa no serán responsables de ninguna violación de la propiedad intelectual, mal uso o plagio por parte de las participantes o miembros externos.

Proteger la privacidad y los datos personales de las participantes es de suma importancia para la Municipalidad de Lima, C40 y los aliados del programa. Al postular, las participantes autorizan a la Gerencia de Servicios a la Ciudad y Gestión Ambiental de la Municipalidad Metropolitana de Lima a que pueda realizar el tratamiento de sus datos personales en el marco del Programa de Mentoría “Lima, Mujeres por el Clima”, teniendo conocimiento que en cualquier momento puede revocar su consentimiento o hacer uso de sus derechos ARCO, acorde a la Ley de Protección de Datos Personales. La información que nos provean las participantes se utilizará para evaluar su postulación, y facilitar su participación en el Programa de Mentoría “Lima, Mujeres por el Clima”. Para ello, C40 compartirá su información con el comité evaluador, y el jurado, conformado por
