Friday, 22 July 2016 Annual Business Plan & Budget 2016/17 The 2016/17 Annual Business Plan & Budget was adopted by Council on Monday 18 July 2016. The full budget will be available to download and / or view from Councils website within the week. July Council Meeting Update and Minutes Mary P Harris Reserve Redevelopment At its Meeting on Monday 18 July 2016, Council approved the final design and construction plans for the Redevelopment of Mary P Harris Reserve. The work is to be tendered in the coming months with actual work expected to commence in September 2016, with completion in late November or early December 2016. July Council Meeting Update and Minutes Mary P Harris Reserve Redevelopment

At its Meeting on Monday 18 July 2016, Council approved the final design and construction plans for the Redevelopment of Mary P Harris Reserve.

2016-2020 Living in the Town of Walkerville: a strategic community plan Council adopted the 2016-2020 strategic community plan on Monday 18 July 2016 Council undertook a public consultation process from 26 April to 24 June 2016. Submissions received were considered by Council at its July ordinary meeting and subsequently Council adopted the draft plan (as circulated during the consultation period).

The revised plan will drive future projects, annual budgets and inform reviews of other key strategic plans. Attached is a summary version of the plan. The full plan will be available to download and / or view from Councils website within the week.

BPay campaign Administration has met with a representative from BPay this week to discuss rolling out a campaign to raise awareness and encourage more residents to pay and receive their rates via Bpay View. A communications strategy is being developed and will be implemented in the coming weeks, featuring the following advert.

My Big Idea - Australian Futures Project The My Big Idea competition is a citizen-led ideas competition focused on creating positive change for Australia. Details and marketing materials are provided below My Big Idea is a nationwide ideas competition that is focused on creating positive change for Australia. Running from 5 June to 3 August, My Big Idea invites all Australians to submit ideas on ways to improve aspects of their communities; from how to boost economic growth, care for the disadvantaged, and look after future generations.

The public can submit ideas via the My Big Idea website, and vote for those ideas they are passionate about. The top 100 most voted on ideas will go before a judging panel, with 10 winning ideas being developed and brought to life, thanks to the support of some of Australia’s leading universities, companies and non-profits.

Australian Futures Project has created a DropBox folder with various marketing content that you can use for social media, your website, newsletters and posters.

Nuclear fuel cycle state-wide engagement sessions - Consultation and Response Agency (CARA) The Consultation and Response Agency (CARA) is encouraging all South Australians to attend state-wide engagement sessions on the nuclear fuel cycle throughout August, September and October CARA was established by the State Government as a response to the recommendations of the recent Nuclear Fuel Cycle Royal Commission report.

The agency will deliver the largest regional consultation program in the State, visiting more than 100 sites across SA.
