Deben View is a very sheltered housing scheme, which enablesolder people to stay in a home of their own, whilst receiving careand support as required. This provides older people with analternative to residential care and allows couples to continue livingtogether. Deben View offers an environment that helps people tomake choices, retain their independence, privacy, and ultimately,have control over their own lives.

DEBEN VIEW DOMICILIARY CAREAGENCY is regulated by the CareQuality Commission to deliver personalcare within the scheme and via anoutreach service to local residents.

Deben View consists of 32 apartments, over two floors. Eachapartment has its own front door, a bedroom, lounge, kitchenand shower or bathroom, including a WC. Within eachapartment there is an Emergency Intercom alarm system, withpull cords to operate this. Pendant alarms to wear are alsoavailable upon request.

Deben View offers tenants theopportunity for visiting friends orfamily to hire the guest room.

The scheme holds regular tenantmeetings and tenants also havethe opportunity to influence theservices provided by theAssociation by joining the ScrutinyPanel or one of the ResidentInvolvement Initiatives. We alwaysencourage tenants to getinvolved, as much or as little asthey like. Tenants’ opinions andexperiences of our services aregreatly valued and more details regarding ResidentInvolvement can be found on our website:

We can provide a care service from our Domiciliary Care Agency,regulated by the Care Quality Commission.

We will provide you with an individual care plan which will betailored to your requirements. Your care plan will define which tasksyou need help with and will be reviewed with you on a regularbasis.

We provide this service to older people who have a variety ofsupport needs including mental health, physical, sensory andlearning difficulties. Staff are trained to QCF (Qualifications CreditFramework)/NVQ (National Vocational Qualifications) in Health andSocial Care Standards, including Manual Handling and otherspecialised training dependent on the needs of the individual suchas Dementia, Parkinson’s, Diabetes, and Strokes. All our supportstaff have been vetted with an enhanced Disclosure and BarringServices check.

Our aim is to assist individuals in maintaining their daily living skillsin order for them to be as independent as possible.

CARE SERVICES

We can help you with the following, laundry,cleaning, shopping, assistance with bathing,attending outings, various in-house activitiessuch as bingo, sing-a-longs and

arts and crafts. This is not an exhaustive list,therefore, please contact us for furtherinformation.

If you are interested in anapartment at Deben View,please contact CustomerFirst to arrange anassessment by AdultCommunity Services (ACS).Following this assessment,you will be told if you are eligible. Alternatively, you cancontact the Service Manager directly on 01394 384565.You may be able to receive help towards the cost ofyour care under Fair Access to Care Service.

To be eligible to live at Deben View you must need aminimum for 4 hours personal care a week, be a residentin the Suffolk Coastal District Council area or have astrong social reason for needing to move to the area. Ifyou are not eligible, you can still move into Deben View bybeing a Private Purchaser and pay for your care yourself.
