Abstract: In this project a case study is taken for our project situated at Tirupati society
Kadoli Road, Maroli of Sureshchandra Maganbhai Patel. By interviewing contractor we
knew that by conventional techniques of construction is very long due to no forecast of
how the whole project finish. In this case study we applied primavera P6 without resource
allocation to give the way to contractor to finish the project by arranging the whole
activities of project in step by step.

INTRODUCTION
In the older days the software were not used in construction projects. No planning or
scheduling was done for small house it was directly executed by contractor and
planning was done manually. Now a day’s architectural planning is done on software
but the work execution schedules are not prepared so most of projects are delayed and
cost overrun occurs. This is the attempt made to achieve control over small residential
project with use of software. The present study is for optimizing plan of building to
reduce cost and decrease time of construction by scheduling. By working on a case
study of residential building. The aim of this project is to reduce the wastage of material
and manpower in a small construction project and reduce possibility of time and cost
overrun. Schedule of building execution will be prepared on the basis of planning and
specifications.
ORACLE SOFTWARE PRIMAVERA P6 & Autodesk AutoCAD
i. PRIMAVERA P6:
Primavera Systems is the brand name under which a range of software packages that
collectively form a comprehensive enterprise project portfolio management (EPPM)
solution are marketed. Primavera was launched in 1983 by Primavera Systems Inc. and was
acquired by Oracle Corporation in 2008.Primavera software includes project management,
collaboration and control capabilities and integrates with other enterprise software such
as Oracle or SAP’s ERP systems.

Primavera’s Project Management module is comprehensive, multi project planning and
control software, built on SQL, Oracle, and SQL Server Express server databases for
organization-wide project management scalability. The module can stand alone for project
and resource management, or it can be used with companion Primavera products to manage
your project portfolios.
ii. AutoCAD:
AutoCAD is a commercial software application for 2D and 3D computer-aided design
(CAD) and drafting available since 1982 as a desktop application and since 2010 as a mobile
web- and cloud-based app marketed as AutoCAD 360.
Developed and marketed by Autodesk, Inc., AutoCAD was first released in December 1982,
running on microcomputers with internal controllers. Prior to the introduction of AutoCAD,
most commercial CAD programs ran on mainframe computers or minicomputers, with each
CAD operator (user) working at a separate graphics.
AutoCAD is used across a wide range of industries, by architects, project managers,
engineers, designers, and other professionals. It is supported by 750 training centers
worldwide as of 1994.As Autodesk's flagship product, by March 1986 AutoCAD had become
the most ubiquitous CAD program worldwide. As of 2014, AutoCAD is in its twenty-ninth
generation, and collectively with all its variants, continues to be the most widely used CAD
program throughout most of the world.

CONCLUSION
By interviewing Contractor working without softwares we found the problems in
construction, design, planning etc. like improper co-ordination between contractor and on site
working peoples, wastage of materials etc. after working on case study and applying different
softwares for applying modular coordination & optimizing for maximum benefit. The
optimized plan with software has more carpet area compared to contractor plan and the cost
for both are nearly equal to same very less cost difference is observed.
By applying primavera for arranging all activities which include in construction work
at starting to finish the project on time. We could manage to save time in all phases of
construction as we see in table 2.
