APPLICATIONS TO GRADUATE PROGRAMMES WILL BE ACCEPTED between JANUARY 2 and JANUARY 10, 2018

Applications are made online through the website < https://obs.akdeniz.edu.tr/oibs/ogrsis/basvuru_login.aspx >.

In order to have their applications considered, applicants must upload the documents listed below to the online application system, and meet the

specified requirements mentioned in the relevant institutes (For the requirements, see: Table 1, Table 2, Table 3, Table 4)

Application Requirements for Graduate Programmes

Copy of Undergraduate Degree and/or Master’s Degree Diploma

Approved Turkish translation of the Undergraduate Degree and/or Master’s Degree Diploma (from an embassy or accredited translator)

Copy of the Undergraduate Degree and/or Master’s Degree Transcript

Approved Turkish translation of the Undergraduate and/or Master’s Degree Transcript (from an embassy or accredited translator)

B2-Level Turkish Language Proficiency Examination Result certificate

(Candidates who have graduated from any State Universities in Turkey are not required to submit a Turkish Proficiency Certificate)

Diploma Equivalency Certificate (If available)

Recognition of the applicant’s previous university degree (All the candidates must obtain the ‘Okul Tanıma Yazısı’ document from the

higher Education Council, YÖK)

For the attention of Candidates applying to the graduate programmes of the Institute of Health Sciences;

Okul Tanıma Yazısı’ Document (Recognition of the applicant’s previous university degree) is required for the programmes

without clinical applications,

Diploma Equivalency is required for the programmes containing clinical applications.

When applying to a Master’s Degree Programme, a foreign language qualification is not required.

When applying to a Doctorate Programmes; candidates must upload to the application system their B2 Level of Turkish Language Certificate

along with Foreign Language Examination Result certificate for English Language (YDS - min. 55 pts) or International Foreign Language

Examination (TOEFL IBT- min.66 pts) which is accepted by the council of the Student Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM).

When applying to Graduate Programmes, an Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES) certificate is not required.

Applicants having dual citizenship can not apply to the Quotas for both Turkish Citizens and International Students at the same time.

Turkish Proficiency Certificate

The B2- Level Turkish Proficiency Certificates which are accepted by the Council of Graduate Schools are listed below:

Turkish Proficiency Certificate from the Akdeniz University TÖMER,

Turkish Proficiency Certificate from the Turkish Language Teaching Research and Application Centres of Turkish State Universities,

Turkish Proficiency Certificate awarded by Yunus Emre Institutions,

Turkish Proficiency Certificate awarded by TÖMER.

Candidates whose online application has been approved by the relevant institutes are required to come to the Akdeniz University and take an oral

or written exam. Candidates must follow their application approval process by logging into the online application system by using their username

and their password. Candidates must print out the exam entrance document which will be available on the online application system before the

exam dates.

Evaluation of the Entrance Exam

To be accepted on master’s degree programmes, candidates must achieve a total of 65 points, of which 40% will be made up of undergraduate

degree grades, and 60% will be awarded from the interview assessment. Candidate grades will be listed from high to low. Candidates who

achieve the required grade but who are not included in the quota will be listed as substitute candidates.

To be accepted on doctorate programmes, candidates must receive a total of 70 points, of which 40% will be made up of undergraduate degree

grades, and 60% will be awarded from the interview assessment. Candidate grades will be listed from high to low. Candidates who achieve

the required grade but who are not included in the quota will be listed as substitute candidates.

Master Degree Programmes are offered with Thesis and Non-Thesis programmes.

Master-Thesis: In Master's degree programs which require a thesis, courses are scheduled during the daytime. A master's thesis is the product of

individual student research, and should represent an original contribution to the academic field of knowledge. Tuition fee for master’s degree

with thesis and doctorate programmes is 774.00 TL for one year in 2017/2018 academic year.

Master Non-Thesis: In Non-thesis master's degree programs, courses are scheduled during the evening. Students must complete a non-thesis

examination to demonstrate mastery of their academic field of study. Non-thesis Evening Courses are charged at a rate of 175 TL per credit.

(For Example: If a course requires 3 credits, the course will be charged at 525.00 TL for one semester.

Note: Tourism Management Non-thesis Master’s Degree will be charged at a rate of 200 TL/ per credit.)
