Developed for the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System of the US Army, the main task for the crane is replenishment of the fast - moving MLRS batteries which are emerging as the air transportable artillery solution for rapidly deployable combat forces. The HIAB 133 ATD-2 is designed to assist chassis manufacturers to achieve the C130 air transportable space envelope. The overall height is as low as 1.346 mm and the overall width is 2.440 mm. Despite its compact designing the crane provides the versatility and functionality of the true knuckleboom folder. Precision control, essential for handling sensitive missile systems, is provided by the HIAB SPACE 5000-MIL control system and the HIAB CombiDrive-MIL remote control with umbilical 15 m cable. Remote control by HIAB CombiDrive-MIL permits the maximum flexibility of positioning for the operator together with the highest level of protection against overloading or inappropriate crane movements. The control system fulfils military standards like the MIL-STD 461E and 810F. Backup crane control is provided by manual operated levers at the hydraulic main valve and full functionality is available with hydraulic power only. A manual pump is furnished to enable crane operation in the event of prime mover services failure. Other variants of the HIAB FATC will include 7 to 20 tonne-metre capacities which may be tailored for specific applications as well as for general cargo crane duties. Tilting / folding support legs, longer / shorter reaches may be specified as required. The HIAB 133 ATD-2 crane illustrated has a nominal capacity of 13 tonne-metres (128 kNm), weighs 1780 kg and has an installation length of 750 mm.

The HIAB 133 ATD-2 crane is the MLRS reload handlingcrane variant of the HIAB Family of Air TransportableCranes (FATC).

Developed for the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System ofthe US Army, the main task for the crane is replenishmentof the fast - moving MLRS batteries which are emergingas the air transportable artillery solution for rapidlydeployable combat forces.

The HIAB 133 ATD-2 is designed to assist chassismanufacturers to achieve the C130 air transportablespace envelope. The overall height is as low as 1.346 mmand the overall width is 2.440 mm.

Despite its compact designing the crane provides theversatility and functionality of the true knuckleboom folder.

Precision control, essential for handling sensitive missilesystems, is provided by the HIAB SPACE 5000-MILcontrol system and the HIAB CombiDrive-MIL remotecontrol with umbilical 15 m cable.

Remote control by HIAB CombiDrive-MIL permits themaximum flexibility of positioning for the operator togetherwith the highest level of protection against overloading orinappropriate crane movements. The control system fulfilsmilitary standards like the MIL-STD 461E and 810F.

Backup crane control is provided by manual operatedlevers at the hydraulic main valve and full functionality isavailable with hydraulic power only. A manual pump is

furnished to enable crane operation in the event of primemover services failure.

Other variants of the HIAB FATC will include 7 to 20tonne-metre capacities which may be tailored for specificapplications as well as for general cargo crane duties.Tilting / folding support legs, longer / shorter reaches maybe specified as required.
