Julia Wilson-James (soprano) studied at the Royal Academy of Music with Parricia Clark and Clara Taylor, and won the Benjamin Britten Prize and a St Marylebone scholarship. She now studies with Patrizia Kwella. Julia has performed for many celebrated conductors for both concerts and recordings, including the late Richard Hickox, and. regularly with the BBC Singers, Nicholas Kraemer, Sir Simon Rattle, the Kings Consort, Richard Cooke, Roger Norrington, John Rutters Cambridge Singers and the Monteverdi Choir. Julias international solo performances have included Mozarts Coronation Mass and Requiem on tour with the Israel Chamber Orchestra and the Bach Mass in B Minor with the same orchestra in Israel. In Norway, she sang Faures Requiem with the Norwegian Soloists Choir and has worked for several seasons with the London Opera Chorus in Lyon and Vienna. Julia is a frequent soloist for choral societies and has appeared at Sc Martin in the Fields. Norwich Cathedral, The Purcell Room and Brentwood Cathedral. In addition to her professional singing engagements, Julia is currently Director of Vocal Studies at Brentwood School and. Head of Vocal Tuition for the boy choristers at the Cathedral, She is also a Lay Clerk in Brentwood Cathedral Choir.
Andrew Wright (piano) Andrew Wright enjoys an extensive career as a church musician, conductor, teacher, organist and composer. .After graduating from Oxford University, he was appointed Assistant Master of Music at Westminster in 1979 under Stephen Cleobury, and in 1982 became Cathedral Director of Music in Brentwood and Director of Liturgical Music for the Diocese. At Oxford he was a member of The Tallis Scholars and the Oxford University Chamber Orchestra and continued advanced, piano studies at the Royal College of Music under John Barstow. He has worked widely through broadcasts, recordings, many major events, and orchestral performances of works extending from the Monteverdi Vespers to Elgar's Dream ofGerotittus. In recent years has conducted a wide variety of music at the Cathedral, including Britten s Noye's Fludde, Messiah, and Brahms' German Requiem. He has composed much for the liturgy and for choirs and. organ with works published, in the U K and USA. In 2009 a C D was published which included his song cycle Bliss ofSolitt-ulc\h tenor soloist Richard Dowling, His Requiem of Peace has been widely performed locally, nationally and in the USA, including in Los Angeles Cathedral.
Tim Smith (piano) has a wide ranging musical career which spans Choral music, Opera, Recital and Musical Theatre. His work with opera companies include accompanying The Carl Rosa Opera Company, Cameo Opera, Hatstand Opera and The New Savoyards of London, and has performed at venues throughout the U K including Goldsmiths Hall, "The Barbican and St. Mart in in the Fields in London. He regularly appears on the concert platform in recitals with singers and intrumentalists, performing a wide variety of chamber music and Lieder. He is an orchestral keyboard player taking part in performances of many large scale choral works, and has worked with pit orchestras in musical theatre. He has also performed at the Players Theatre, London, T im is also a very successful solo pianist, performing recitals i n his own right across the South East.
